Also, there were 18 Sept new hires on the last list. Only 14 of those Sept new hires remain on the new list. For the August list, 19 were added, 17 remain.

So, of the last 37 added to the seniority list (Aug & Sept), 31 remain on this list. That's only an average of 15 per month added to the seniority list.

That was BEFORE Envoy, Piedmont, PSA, and Endeavor made their latest pay increase announcements. Attracting pilots to Mesa is much more difficult now.

We are losing FOs at a far greater rate than we can attract and train new FOs.

I'm no rocket scientist, but short of a stellar new contract coming out immediately, and/or substantial retention bonuses to keep pilots at Mesa, this boat will be taking on water at an alarming rate. It appears it already is.

The numbers I stated are correct. I can list the 43 names of the people who have quit. But I won't do that on a public forum.

To reiterate my point, we are bleeding FOs. Out of the 43 that have left, 11 were off the top half of the list, 32 were off the bottom half of the list. FOs are bolting.

And it is at a rate much higher than we can attract and train new FOs. I would venture to say we are going to have a very very difficult time hiring to keep up with attrition, especially in light of the recent pay increases at Envoy, PSA, Piedmont, Endeavor, and everywhere else.

Expect the seniority list to continue to get smaller. As of today, we are at 1205.
Ahh! I see that now thanks for the explanation. I learn something new each day, pretty neat! Thank you you sir/ma'am

You are absolutely correct, I jumped up about 9 spots in base and like 20 in global and we lost 4 FOs from the bottom, and I spoke with 4 guys that were in class with me that have interviews at other regionals. They want to stay but they are not happy with the pay. Hmmmmmm.

That means there are 246 pilots smarter than you.

hi there Mesa forum members, one of my neighbors son is considering Mesa. He has been offered a class and is in the middle of making a decision between few other airlines. One of his questions is that the 1 yr contract which is at 12k i believe he said. So if he leaves like 6 months prior to his contract finishing, he pays the remaining balance which would be around 6k i assume. And please dont say that tell my neighbors son to consider another airline as i already recommended that.

The balance is prorated per month, and with 45 days notice the remaining amount is cut in half. So at 6 months, with 45 days notice, he would owe $3k.

But, there is a caveat to this. The contract doesn't commence until the day you pass your checkride. So, with indoc, systems, and sim you'll be 3 months into training before your contract starts.
NO ONE SHOULD BE CONSIDERING MESA RIGHT NOW
