No need for the personal attacks. We each have reasons for being at Mesa and then moving on when the time is right, or not as the case may be. We all know Mesa is transient for most, no need to rehash this for the umpteenth time. I'm pleased you've moved on. Congratulations. Be gracious in your success, you'll earn more respect.

It might be rationalizing, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to leave while accruing that 1000TPIC. We went over this a few pages ago and you even agreed. And while it's been hashed out about a thousand times, the 2013-2014 timeframe had us only marginally below the other regionals. Bases were mostly desirable (from ORD and living in PHX? No brainer). Eagle was on the verge of getting shut down and Endeavor-style retention bonuses were non-existent. Flow throughs? Not a thing. Did Mesa have a reputation? Sure. JO was being stingy for paying us $3 less an hour. The disparity now isn't the same ballpark, it's not the same league, it's not even the same sport. I'm out like trout the second I hit a thousand, and until then I'm doing everything in my power to help force a reasonable TA. Fly the contract, nothing more, nothing less.

No Land 3 you might mean well but you come across as a total DB. You know the guy who goes back to his old High School to brag about all the college tail he's getting? Or the brand new regional FO who goes back to his flight school wearing his airline uniform? You're being that guy.

Anyone in the left seat accruing PIC time and associated pay would be silly to move to another regional in many cases. And getting on at a LCC/ULCC isn't always financially viable depending on your situation. Cargo isn't all that attractive of an option to most with families and many in general. But most of my captain friends at Mesa are trying to get out. They aren't part of the problem. Not everyone can just leave at the drop of a hat. Easy to say when you've left. A lot easier said than done for those still there.

Until we can stem new hires coming here (what are they thinking!?), we have little to no leverage. It'll take a horrible summer travel season of cancelled flights to get a contract, and even then there will probably be a 6-12 month lag time as management figures it'll only be necessary prior to the following Christmas or summer travel period. WisJudge pointed out that our cease and desist of new hire bonuses will probably get caught up in the slow moving, appeals-ridden bureaucratic court system and go nowhere fast. Our attrition is good but it's only slightly outpacing hiring, and in fact management just outhired us for March. Somehow. It'll take more people leaving, a lot more, for anything to get done in 2017. And I hate to say it but I feel like part of the problem in that respect.
In the meantime, I'm afraid the company might somehow actually scrape through this summer.

These new hires don't have all the information. The only way they can find out the specifics of how these operations work is either come to this website, or Word of Mouth. There is too much misinformation and antics on this site to be a reliable source. The union needs to take the reigns and inform.

64x 101 something + about 1000$ a month in tax free per diem. Home basing, top tier Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance at 250$ month for family.
Pick up open time at 150% which is 150$ hr.
Been averaging 80 hours a month, works out around 96,000$ first year without picking up open time.
I can't fault you for not knowing any better, it's one of the jobs you don't know how good it is until you are doing it.

Way cheap? It's the highest paying first year FO position, and 7th overall. So you're either at Delta, Fed Ex, or UPS.
I'd still rather be at K4
