Was that worth posting twice..... 13 minutes apart?

Awesome story though. I'm surprised he didn't mention his 3 DFC's, 2 gold stars, and 69 xx medals with 3 oak leaf clusters.

hey, dont get me wrong, i think the French have done some shaddy things, but we are not talking about that here. We are talking about tankers and, in this case, a very good tanker crew that was flying a KC-135 and doing a great job. Again, like i said, they were the best tanker crew i have ever refueled from.

with regards to WW (winged wheeler), i would suggest you go back and check your facts with regards to drogue only....maybe you could read a book about it while you orbit in the tanker track, practicing your ability to hold altitude within 500 feet.

i have a pic of us on the boom...PM me for it or i will post it in the thread to prove that WW doesnt know what HE is talking about..

Cheers,
Haven't you had time to photo shop that French tail flash on the AR photo yet.

Don't forget to change the tail number.

Jeff,
Since your such outstanding pilot, um I mean aviator, perhaps you could tell good ole AMC what Autopilot they use, since apperantly they've replaced the one that came with it when we sold it to them! And how is it that a fighter can't keep up with KC-135?? It ain't that hard! And I've done the AR thing in a 135 at night without lights for years in a past life (IP,EP) and if a "tanker pilot" can do it....WHY CAN'T YOU?

Theres also the story of some AF Airman who started writing some local high school age girls in his home town about all his heroics during Desert Storm. Unbeknownost to him One thought it would be a good idea to publish these letters as they were sent. Turns out this Airman was telling these girls He was flying on F-111 missions evry night bombing the hell out of the Iraqiis!! Of course everyone in his small town read the reports in the paper, and when He came home they threw a huge parade for the kid...only to find out he lied about all the F-111 bombings etc etc.

He doesn't speak for the whole F-15E community...at least, not for those of us who have been around long enough to see the photo grande and know that there's more to military aviation than the airframe-specific bias (and ignorance) that we all learn during our first tour in a fighter squadron.
I'd say WSO, since he would have flown the T-34 and rode theT-39/T-1 in Pensacola.

Don't even start with me dude.

You are the one that put down Americans in order to compliment the frogs. And you went WAY out of your way to do it. The thread was not about french tanker crews. It was about naming the next USAF tanker. You turned it into this topic. Heinous. And your chief complaint about our dudes seemed to be "altitude holding ability." I have gotten gas from tanker or three in my time, and I can tell you with 100% certainty that the altitude control of the tanker has never crossed my mind. Ever. And I've never heard an altitude holding complaint out of any other pilot either. It certainly would never strike me as a standout performance if they were on altitude or drug me where I needed to go like it stood out for you and the frogs. I'm not sure what was so impressive about them to you, but I also don't care so you can save the rebuttal stories of french altitude holding heroics for your mudhen bar or the high school cafeteria or wherever you hang out.

The beef everyone has is that you put down our dudes on a public forum for no reason in favor of dudes from a country that a lot of us have a moral problem with. You, apparently, do not. That's the problem.

You took a cheap shot over something stupid. Now you can't understand why you are taking return fire. And you want to know what's wrong with us? Come on.

We tanker pilots may be....tanker pilots.

But at least we're pilots. Many of us have even been hired at airlines. Shouldn't you be posting on AirlineNavigatorsForum?
