Just goes to show the Airline industry & Military is a small world. Lying about credentials/experience is about the dumbest thing you can do. It's a dog-eat -dog world and someone was bound to catch on at some point..

...and he's 24 and claimed to graduate from USAFA in 2006 (on Linkedin)...when he was 20. So did he then Palace Chase into the Guard (Because it's so easy for 20 year old 2Lt's to do so ), go to UPT and get hired by Eagle all at the same time? Or did he attend the College he claims in the ALPA article. Did he even have the 500+ hours that were in his logbook when he got hired at Eagle? Oh, the comedy.

That boy was busy! In his facebook notes, he claimed to be a SWA F/O based in MCO in 2006. Surprisingly those notes were deleted today.
Here's the grab from yesterday:

Flying Under the HUD
Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 5:36pm

This photo was taken through the Heads Up Display (HUD) that Southwest Pilots use to find the airport in weather. It repeats all the necessary flight instrument data that the main instruments on the dash depict, all in one easy to find location. The nifty thing about the HUD is it allows SWA Captains to remain focused out in the distance looking for the runway at Minimum Descent Altitude (MDA) on the approach. That is the final time the Pilot can continue the approach. If the runway is not in sight by then, the pilot must execute the “go around? procedure.

The airspeed information is to the left (not in view in this photo), altitude to the right, radar altitude below and to the right of the “DH 150″ notation (this denotes that the “decision height? is 150 feet–the point at which the decision to land or go around must be made) and most importantly, the Flight Path Vector symbol on or near the runway. That is a pretty accurate instantaneous estimate by the HUD computer where the aircraft is flying to, in this case, just to the right of the runway aside the touchdown point. The Flight Path Vector Symbol also shows the airspeed relative to the speed selected by the Pilots for the approach, as well as whether the aircraft is accelerating (gaining energy) or slowing down (losing energy) relative to that selected speed. This is great information to have because it is often your first indication of an upcoming loss of airspeed, as in a windshear event.

The HUD. Another great tool we use to get our passengers where they need to be, safely and securely. (My partner was flying this approach and I was monitoring through the HUD for this picture.) Note the nifty runway identification lights illuminating where the runway starts.

Uh, guys...I got some news for you.

In addition to being an airline pilot and former ANG F-15 driver, I also worked for the CIA, flew several missions commanding the Space Shuttle, starred as lead in a porn movie (yes...a straight one), and played drums for the band Foreigner for few years....

'Scuse me from the discussions for a spell because I gotta go update my Facebook page.

Seriously...what I CAN'T WAIT for is NEXT month's ALPA magazine...I think the "note from the editor" is going to be hilarious!

I'll offer the friendly wager of a beverage of choice that ALPA will never retract or correct that story. Sadly, I just don't think it's in the leadership's DNA despite pretty solid documentation that they got it [horribly] wrong.

Of all things, this story had to be "The Code of Ethics Role Model". Good grief, why wouldn't the article's author, nominating committee, and selection committee fact check? I'm sad for the many qualified and hard working ALPA volunteers who get a black-eye because of this guy's misrepresentation.

This is the same kid who tried to impress a friend of mine by telling her he was a 75/6 FO at american....when she told me she knew this guy i called him out on it...and he was trying to claim it was flow through slot that he got. I dont know of any FO's his age at American Mainline. Hes a compulsive liar and a fraud....he is in the guard in jersey somewhere but i think hes a ramper.

this dude should be paying all our union dues this year....and shame on ALPA for believing this guy and not looking into his history at all.

Definitely should be DQ'd for the "Moral Character" requirement of the ATP Certificate. And if he is in the NJ Guard as a Crew Chief or Gate Guard for all we know, he should get what's coming to him from the guys who actually earned their wings.

Poor kid has dug himself a huge hole. ALPA will have to react to the article, as there are simply too many folks who now know about this.

If this got to the mainstream press, how do you think Eagle management would handle it? Do you want YOUR family flying with someone who at the least has serious maturity/integrity issues, and at worst might be someone off balance mentally?

Next...claiming to be something you aren't in the military can fall under the "Stolen Valor Act". Not an attorney, nor do I play one on TV...but somebody is probably going to at least look at it.

Finally...how smart is it to live in New York, and have a "myspace" account with the "newyorksbravest" as a nickname? We laugh at posers in our profession, but I think some of the FDNY might take things a bit more seriously.

My prediction is this FO is about to have the worst professional week of his life.

I'm gonna guess it's a very short week as well. What an idiot.
