Whoa there, cowboy! You overestimate my powers! The emasculation of the military (and our country BTW) is something that was put in place long before I joined the military and I did nothing to "contribute." I've just completed every lousy CBT these tools have crammed down my throat. I voiced my support for a policy put in place by one of the only "good" generals left in the service and now I'm responsible for the downfall of our civilization. Your powers of deduction are astounding! Hey, if you guys think hanging up nudie pictures in your place of business is professional and don't mind your daughters walking through your squadron during "family day" to view those works of art, so be it. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but if you want to do that, keep it at home where it belongs. I think Gen Welsh would back me up on that one. Flame on haters!

LIM, I guess time will tell. My experience with generals and politicians is they say they care (and might even believe they do), but when it's time to go to bat for their people, it turns out it was all just lip service. They only care about themselves. That's how our great nation and AF are in the situation they are in today.

It's no straw man I'm afraid. The original post had a link to an article entitled "The end of the airman's pin-up: U.S. Air Force orders pictures of naked women to be taken down after sexual assaults soar." Am I missing something?

In all seriousness, I believe the policy includes the broader definition of "anything that objectifies women," which would include the calendar in my Sq bar (Heritage Room) of fully clothed women, to the PG-13 scantily clad pin ups in (all-male) dorm rooms at deployed locations.

We spent all of Friday cleaning out hard drives and taking down pics in the SQ that might be offensive. Waste of time if you ask me. Every fighter SQ in the world could get shut down with a little digging. BL is this wont stop sexual harassment. It just ****es everyone off and makes us feel like children.

The warrior monk is a myth. Men who fight are crude, swear, do NOT display an above-average measure of sexual restraint and have vices and personal short comings akin to those in the civilian population. It's a sunk cost and no amount of censorship is going to fundamentally change that dynamic. I think most women understand this dynamic. It's just that everybody is so afraid of losing their job in this economy, plus no real war to fight by the majority of the ChairForce noners, that the concept of heritage becomes detached and difficult to connect with,so it's easy to scapegoat. The emasculation of the Air force indeed. Unfortunately it is only in the presence of a real fight, where people die in substantive quantities, that this retarded gestapo antics gets equalized.
Professionalism does not equal warrior monk I'm afraid. Not in the real world where people die in combat. In the Air Force however, professionalism could be defined as the attempt to be warrior monks. It's a fool's errand, but at that point it's about keeping a paycheck, not being combat effective. Nothing substantive will change wrt sexual assaults with this latest sweep.

I see, Welsh can do the same things as Schwartz, but he's better because he is doing because he "has to"? Does that mean that Schwartz would have wanted to? Additionally, if Welsh is nothing more than a mere intermediary below those telling him what to do, why do we have a CSAF?
It's knee jerk, it's degrading to real morale and espirit de corps, etc; and Welsh owns it.
What isn't being said.....that each of these assaults to include the Lackland affair are LOCAL and local leadership fails to respond appropriately. Local CCs allowed environments to exist that allowed this and THEY were not punished, so now we all pay the price. As usual, failures in leadership and protection of peers by leadership lead to another degradation of our once great AF.
But, that Welsh, he's different, he's one of us??? He really thinks this is political correctness gone overboard, he just can't say it (of course, as the CSAF if he doesn't then we can't)?
