I know Meat also,... and the first section landing he ever accomplished was with me in a T-38. I guess they didn't do them in the Tomcat,... but what do I know?
What's up Huggy -- yeah, we did plenty of them in the Turkey.

Did you really expect to throw some shots across the bow(no pun) and not expect some smack in return? Thats like throwing a hip check on the crud table and getting upset when it comes back around.

I have an idea, let's total up all the ordnance expended from USAF jets vs USN/USMC jets in OIF/OEF/Kosovo/Gulf War and then we'll talk.

I would imagine that ANG with (my understanding) the role of "mostly flying" versus AD with the role of (my understanding) of "fly", "collateral duty" "leadership development" , "other BS" that the ANG guy might actually fly more.

Just wondering
I seem to fly more than my AD friends. We, still have other jobs in the sq (weapons, scheduling, Stan/eval, etc...), that take away from flying. But we have much less additional bs to waste our time (planning the Xmas party, getting your masters, exec job, etc...).

Hey, Voodoo. Pure assumption on my part, based on a limited, incomplete, and... apparently... inaccurate picture.

Did you shave that Unabomber-looking scruff off yet? Or are you going to keep it and scare the passengers?? Hope you killed enough to fill the freezer.

ALCON: I retract the "you guys don't do section landings" comment. My apologies.

Let's move on to the "Navy visual signals suck, and should be standardized with the rest of the aviation world" comments.

The USAF should have adapted aviation signals already in use when they were organized instead of making up their own

AD USAF, there tends to be a broad range in flight times depending on how much time you spend working on your career. I hit 5,000 hours in 13 years, but there's not a lot of 5,000 hour guys around AD.

I've also never met a ANG/Reserve guy regret not being AD. However, I think the pay and retirement is better AD.

5K in 13 years is awesome, but almost non-existent in fighters anyway. But for these guys it's not so much about working on their career as it is about available lines to fly. It's only getting worse, especially if they go through with the 20% reduction in flying hours AF wide.

Unless you're a Guard AGR, it's one of the best kept secrets of the military. We also have guys jumping off AD into our sq at 12+ years because they can't deal with the BS anymore.

Have you seen this little gem?
