Curious though, what did you list as an avail date on your apps? My impression has been no major will call to interview till you're within six months.

If you're trying to get an airline job don't take another tour. Same with taking an ANG gig if it sends you to RTU course. It just delays getting a seniority number. A guy 100 numbers senior to me is working on making $100,000 more than I can this year. 100 numbers. That's 1-2 months of hiring. That's might be a difference in what you work, or don't work, every month.
You've got enough time if it's single seat. IP and Safety are big plusses.
You probably won't get called if you just applied. Update at least monthly.
Job fairs are an unknown plus. It shows interest and effort. WAI first weekend in March, OBAP in August, are the big ones that the airlines support.
Mil guys with 121 quals appear to get a fair amount of traction if they don't get hired coming off AD. Again, it shows interest and effort.
CJO to job is running several months. Recently AA has dropped to 7-10 weeks after being 10-11 months. Saw a slide on APC that DL is about 6 months. Last year UA was as quick as 2 months.

Those hours look just as competitive (or more so) than many other mil guys who have been hired recently. I think if you got out tomorrow you would be interviewed within a few months. As to your timing for taking orders/getting out, I can't comment there. When I left active duty, we had to give nine months notice! Good luck with the job hunt.

Question: Which of the following options makes the most sense for an individual who wants to get hired by a Legacy:
a) Take one more 3-yr assignment to pad my hours/quals (i.e. try to pick up a SEFE qual and go over 3000TT)
b) 7-day opt and leave ASAP for the regionals, while keeping my apps in and updating regularly
c) Declare my intent to separate, but ride out my full 6-months of post-7-day-option time...hoping to get the call
d) Go guard/reserve while keeping the apps on file
Follow-up: Anything else I can do to enhance my resume? (Currently on a flying deployment).
Thanks for reading,
Sled
Apply to UPT bases, they are all hiring, and can offer good troughing opportunities while you wait for the call. Most are OK with commuters and you'll rapidly increase your network. Guys in my Squadron are all getting offers and most are getting second offers right away or within 6 months.
Also, see if you can get the EP qual where you are currently at. Believe it or not, I was completely open about my intent to separate and still upgraded to EP at the end of my AD career (this is probably rare though).

I still have 6 more years before the commitment is up. I've seen the charts that show retirements peaking in the 2020's. Does anyone have any info on whether heavy hiring will continue into the 2020's? Any chance at getting in and gaining seniority in the early 2020's?
