Don’t need a 401K when you’re smart enough to build your own retirement, you wouldn’t understand though.
Well said.

The rhetoric of "if you don't go fly for a major bla bla bla bla bla". It's like everyone who flies for a 135, ACMI, Franctional etc will be buried 3 feet deep because they didn't fly for a major. It's pretty sad.

Some people need a bit more perspective in life.
Having a career that pays $150k/year used to be pretty dang comfortable. In aviation, somehow, that's considered a failure.

Whiney grown(ish) kids. I'm too old to play with other people's kids.

There is nothing wrong with flying for Net Jets, but that said, you don't see any pilots leaving the majors for them. That speaks for itself.

Maybe you aren't sure how inflation works. 150k in 1998 is 232k now.

Speak for yourself.
How the hell goes into a profession and reaches a point and says “yeah thats enough, that ought to do”?

Comfortable if you don't want to purchase a house in a place that sucks, comfortable if you drink box wine and eat McDonalds as a "date night out" with the significant other, and comfortable if you love living with credit card debt and taking loans out.

Why would you want to work harder for less money? That defies even common sense.

It takes 150K to afford McDonalds? Did they raise the price of the Big Mac to $100?
