Sorry to bring this thread back on topic, but I just got a TBNT email from NJ. I have 6,000+ hours, including 1500 jet PIC and 2500 t/p PIC. I’m in utter disbelief that these numbers alone don’t even warrant a phone interview. Is this job just in much higher demand than I thought? I’m shocked and really disappointed - this was my realistic dream job. Now I’m back to waiting for Delta to never call.
Someone please tell me a mistake was made somewhere.

It's all supply/demand. Right now we don't have a ton of demand for new pilots. I will say that the company has turned down pilots that I personally know and think highly of. Wish I could give a better answer than that.

Now, the union....
I'm still curious as to what '121 maneuvers' are. Different ILS? A new technique to fly steep turns? Different stall procedures? Different flight levels to fly? They still haven't answered on what '121 maneuvers' are.

That would be nice but with 3 day trips instead of 7 there's little to call in for.

For years Netjets has been moving the different fleet types to a Part 121 training SYLLABUS instead of a Part 135 syllabus. It is largely a paperwork exercise but it did allow certain simulator events to be waived during recurrent training and allowed the use of LOFTs to check off some boxes. Checkride format and line check requirements under Part 121 are also somewhat different.
It’s a distinction without much of a difference to (mis)quote an old saying. Try not to get too wrapped around the axle over it.
Now AQP will be an entirely different kettle of fish. Training requirements, training frequency, and training format will all COMPLETELY change. I’ll be curious to see when and how each fleet is transitioned. I also wonder if it will even happen in my fleet given the disposal plan and whether the timeline makes it worthwhile. Needless to say, they haven’t told us a THING in that regard.

There are lots of applicants for few positions. Two areas that you didn't seem to indicate you had covered were internal recommendations and some way to show that you are capable/ familiar with good customer service. The company has been a bit over focussed on the customer service side of hiring for a few years now, but if they don't beleieve you have any background or knowledge of dealing with customers, they are very skittish about giving you a chance to prove yourself. Your flight experience is fine, but I would suggest finding a way to a show you are able to deal well with those in the back. How that is done, I don't know- I was hired before that was important to show beforehand to those in charge of hiring. Good luck if you decide to keep trying.

"It's been determined that your background is not a match for the requirements set forth in this position."
Maybe that's just boilerplate that they use for all of their rejections, but the wording makes me wonder if I screwed up something on the application, like said "yes" to felonies or DUIs or whatever. My record is spotless, and if anything, I feel like I'm overqualified. Isn't there a pilot shortage?

I appreciate the advice. I just find it strange that nearly 15 years of 135 time isn't even worth a phone call. I find this odd too -

hmmm... I don't remember there being any way to frame my customer service experience at all. There weren't any essay questions that I recall. It was all personal info, education, flight experience fill in the blank type stuff. Could I have missed an entire section of the app and still submitted it?
