Wow - sorry to hear that. Clearly the market is still strong for hiring. Again, JB, SWA and Spirit appear to be frequent destinations for NJA folks lately on the 121 side and other fractionals are growing too if you want to stay in this business... I’d go 121 if I were in your situation.

Read it over. Simple as this IMO. If they fired you because of your sick time it is in violation of FAA policy. Your job as a pilot is to self monitor your health and not fly if you are not well. End of story. If they put pressure on you for that and fired you for that it is a violation of FARs.

A few years back 6 guys got grounded for a few months as they investigated if they were grounding planes for allegedly fake MX write ups. 5 or the 6 filed AIR21 cases. NJA lost and appealed in court, well certain info they wanted hidden was then available for public viewing. They ended up settling as it blew up on them and a change in posture took place. Part of the deal was MCC got redone and many heads went a rolling. Pilots got some compensation and a NDA.

So if you feel you were wrong and NJA violated FARs or were asking you to violate FARs start the process.

Their not stupid, they made 4 of my classmates and me resign in our last week of probation saying "we did not complete our probation period" Under the contract we have no rights so they can let you go for any reason, so they don't point out the sick calls. But they had brought me in and asked about a sick call 8 months earlier, so they let me fly for 8 more months before letting me go, just dishonest operation! and now I am finding out they have been doing this to many more in last year, so just FYI, if you want to keep a job at NJA don't call in sick!

I’m sorry to hear that. Even if you resigned you can still file an AIR21 investigation. They obviously got you to resign by intimidation. They called you in for a sick call you had. They have records of that convo. File the charges and get everyone else involved too. In the mean time call the press that were at the lady suing over height. Get them involved.

So you called 'sick' 1 time only during your probation period, no other fatigue, no other no-shows? and the other 4 classmates all also had only 1 only sick calls and no no-shows, no 4-5 average fatigue calls?

So you mean as a FACT that at least 2 to 4 new-hires in probation were let go for every class in the last year, so about 20 pilots were let go for just 1 or 2 sick calls? Fact?

I am baffled.

Seems like there’s a lot more to the story. It’s pretty difficult to get fired from NJ

If military drop mil
Leave and are fired for it even on probation... netjets would have a serious issue with a USERRA lawsuit.. majors have tried and failed and would result is a huge payout .

If what you say is 100% true, 1 sick day, no fatigues, no missed airlines, no sleeping in resulting in delayed passengers, not getting called by professional standards, yada yada yada, perfect employee. File an AIR21 and sue the **** out of them because you will win. That being said, I get the feeling you're leaving out 95% of the story. The Union has gone to bat for guys on the boarder line and got the company to extend probation. I get you're on probation but the union didn't fight for you at all? Why? I'm truly sorry you lost your job but your story just doesn't jive with past practices or basic logic.

Union didn’t back you? Shocker! They still took your money, though, didn’t they?
