it has been said the COO takes it very personal when you quit as he feels thisnis the greatest job out there. I can't see then taking anyone back whonquits for another carrier. Especially back when the PRIA was acticive and they pretty much knew if you were leaving for another carrier.

I know 2 who left and came back, but both were 20+ years ago when they returned. One retired last year and the other is still going strong.

False. I have personally heard it from him. And don't call in sick on your last tour as he told our whole recurrent he had no problem reaching out to the airline you are going to, to let them know what you did.

Two years from retirement and am looking at still flying. How do retired 121 people do at NJ? How tight are the cockpits? Can you get up and stretch? What are the challenges in the transition? Be gentle. Just looking at getting some questions answered. TIA

The company doesn’t seem to be hiring many ORAPs but there have been a few. Some do fine, others have a harder time realizing they are now a baggage handler, bell boy, and lav cleaner that flies a plane.
Your “cockpit comfort” depends completely on what airplane you get assigned. At the moment, new hires are getting everything except the Large Cabin including the Praetor, CL-350, and Longitude. Quite comfy. But if you’re unlucky, you’ll get the Phenom. If you happen to be “vertically challenged,” it’s survivable. If you’re over 6 feet, you’re SOL.
It’s a COMPLETELY different world than 121. Some things better, other things not so much. Many would recommend golf clubs instead…
Muy buena suerte.
