I'm leaving NJA after 8+ years. I've been trying to get a 121 job for over 4 years and just recently got hired by a major. You can't beat the vacation time and basing at NetJets but life on the line and morale is about bottomed out.

How to fly them or how to design them?

Glad you are back at the job Macjet and best wishes for what you are looking for in the future.

Congrats to everyone moving on from NJ. Part 121 is a whole different world, but it is the pinnacle of the commercial aviation world. All you young fractional pilots should aspire to a major airline job.

There are plenty of us old fuds out here that will gladly replace you in order to stretch our aviation careers.

I have zero desire to go back to 121 flying. It just does not fit who I am and the flying I want to do.

The issues at NJA are driven by managements actions and the response by the union. These two will never see eye to eye and that will make life for everyone harder moving forward. This us against them mind set does ZERO good and will only harm both. The hardline approach taken by management will damage the brand and the unions response will help them. Greed is alive and well on both fronts...

JJ, I will go out on a limb and guess that your 121 experience was not with a major. If I'm wrong, please say so. Having done both and, and very much enjoyed the frac job, there is no comparison with working for a major if you live near a large base. The pay, days worked, flexibility are great. To some, the work is boring and repetitive but not to all. If you want to live off the grid somewhere, the fracs are not only the best choice but the only choice. Do not make the mistake of comparing regional and LCCs (not talking SWA here) with a major. Apples and oranges. You will make much more $ at the major and, in my opinion, have an easier life.

It was not at a major. Airlines (name one that does) do not care about their people...either the ones they pay or the ones that pay to fly. I have seen the inner workings of the legacy carriers and they are no different than anyone else. As a passenger, I have seen their failures..and I am not interested in being part of it. As for living in base, I will NEVER move for another job...EVER. I want to live where I want to live..not where the job is. As for the money, I quit chasing it years ago. I chase happiness and the airlines are simply not where I would find it. Simply one persons choices.

I hope it does but I'm still looking at AA or UAL for a 'career' job.

How all the numbers on the back applied to the line pilots. Specifically the old Aspen numbers. He was a great guy which is his downfall. Our current EMT is determined to rid themselves of anyone that either likes their job or has experience.

I was shocked at how it has changed. I almost wish I hadn't accepted recall. A better contract or not our current EMT has ruined the culture that made NetJets what it was. Even with a better contract this place is so toxic that I've lost all enthusiasm for this job. Maybe 121 isn't any better but if I'm going to be miserable I want to be paid better for it.

Fly safe.
