It's about time. Good grief, just go away. good luck with your new job.
Nevermind.

Just keep it on topic. The mods as well as other folks who are considering going to Silver deserve a professional disscussion rather than this regressing to a Jerry Springer/ Maury Povich type deal. I have my views on Certain people at Silver, you have yours. In reality, it was a my experience post that you got involved with and chose to defend folks who refused to defend themselves.

From now on, I'll just keep it on topic. The people posting on here deserve better.

Are lines commutable with Silver? Was wondering if one could commute to the reserve lines. Not the ideal choice, but circumstances have it that moving in base is not an option.

Yes, it is commutable, Cruz is in the Cleveland area and commutes, and guys I know in Billings commute, but have heard the flights in and out are sometimes full (but isn't that everywhere?), in and out of FL is a piece of cake with all the options. I have a reserve line next month and I usually have 3 days off at a time, but it's not enough to spend more than a day at home.

What kind of times are they really looking for DECs? Posted mins are basic ATP....

Need previous T-Prop experience? Previous PIC experience?

Does anybody know the profile of the recent DEC newhires?

Not to flame, but usually when one asks if something is commutable we are talking commuting on the same day one starts/stops working and thus giving you all of your days off at home, I think you are referring to getting in/out of your domicile on your days off, I am sorry if I'm miss understanding you!

yeah, I was meaning more if the reserve lines are commutable on at least one end of the schedule, sorry I wasn't clear on it. I have an interview coming up for a street captain spot, so if I do come aboard, I will be hitting reserve for quite sometime. I'll be commuting out of washington DC so just trying to get a feel for it. Thanks again guys.

I wouldn't say its commutable on the tail end of your work day if your on reserve, because a lot of times you might get extended. I dont really remember the times, but I think the earliest they can release you is around 18:00 (im probably wrong). Same for the front end, because you usually need to be phone ready by 6am on some days. However, once you hold a line, its plenty doable. Just pick a line that has the first day starting at a later hour, and last day starting at an earlier hour. If you get off your last trip at 2pm, I dont see why you cant hop on a flight same day. Flying into base the same day as the first trip is very risky in my opinion. We do have a commuter clause, but you only get 2 per 12 calendar months.

It's commutable on the tail end. I start at 4AM and I know that with the way the schedules run that I can't be used really after 1ish. It really all depends on what base you're in and where you live. It's not bad if there is a lot of flights between your home and work such as my case.
