I knew they were going to be hiring about now...I thought that was the plan since about October.

We are not over staffed anymore. We have taken more airplanes, more flying and lost 16 people since October.

Really because in the last round-table videos Querio said we were overstaffed on pilots because we're paying 2 hrs to pilots for every hour flown.

Never heard him say that. Although I didn't listen to all 4 hours of it.

We're still overstaffed, look at all the people sitting around and flying 5 hours a month.

What are the staffing bid rumors? I haven't been flying much and I hear that ATL and IAD will no longer be reserve bases (I know about for the Flight Attendants) but I hear for pilots also and that it will be out in March sometime. I hope there's one, I'm putting in for upgrade.

Many airlines have reserves who only fly 5 hours a month(Skywest, Pinnacle, Jetblue, Delta etc.) Solid efficiency can be a cause for this.

Haven't heard anything regarding a staffing bid but who knows. I would be surprised to see anything prior to June. I also wouldn't be surprised if you saw upgrade minimums increased depending on how hiring and staffing goes.

Effective at the same time as the 1500 hr rule you will have to have 1000 hrs of "air carrier experience" to be PIC in 121. I have a feeling that some of our FOs don't know this, and especially the ones on reserve may get denied upgrade on that basis.

This is a definite change? I have heard there would be some changes to upgrade minimums but no real details.

Out of curiosity, how many hours is the average line holder getting paid a month? Is there much soft money with the trip rigs? Thanx.

Heard the same thing that there will be a min time requirement to upgrade like 2500TT just like the pretty much have everywhere else , Colgan's was 2500 on the Saab I think and 3500 on the Q

My best guess; I would say company wide right now is probably about 80-85 hours with little to no soft money.
