Does anybody know what the upgrade time is currently looking like, and what the upgrade requirements are? Thanks FL is still pretty senior on all ends. There's FOs in northern stations trying to go to FL, so that might be a while. And you would have to on the Saab to even qualify at this point without transition. I think this place might be getting stale pretty soon without any growth. We shall see. |
I thought the 1900 upgrade in may was cancelled? Is there another one?

So I can still get into that upgrade class I'm assuming?

It's not the lowest. We have 75hr guarantee, and a lot of reserve guys that I've talked to on the B1900 fly closer to 90hrs, by choice. A few guys this past month have flown 102+hrs. That right there is more than most regionals.

Silver Airways to switch to an exclusively-Saab fleet
10MAY2013 Silver Airways (3M, Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International (FLL)) has decided to remove all twelve of its remaining Beech 1900D turboprops and will instead shift to being an exclusive Saab 340B operator, of which it has seventeen. The aircraft were acquired by the airline's current owners, Victory Park, who bought twenty-one 1900Ds from Raytheon (RAY, Tucson International (TUS)) for Silver Airways' predecessor, Gulfstream International Airlines (3M, Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International (FLL)), in 2011. The Florida-based operator had used its 1900Ds on flights throughout Florida, the Bahamas and Cleveland under the United Express banner. |

What's the source on this?!? It shows a date of May 13, 2013. But it also says that Silver has 17 Saabs, when we actually have 27. So I question the validity of this article.

Zelgstrasse 34 8222 Beringen Switzerland In their data base it says that you guys have 17 "active" Saabs, and 10 "inactive". So those together make 27. I'm not sure if that's up to date, or makes sense, or not. It might be that their article on your Beech-1900s all leaving is just a mix up, but the article is 3 weeks old now, you think they would have corrected it if it was wrong by now? It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was correct and you are the last to know. That's how it always is... Anyway, some of the best/obscure info comes from places like this, government bids, etc. Company generated info is usually the worst. I swear when one of my bases was closed down I was the very last person on the whole airport to know. |
