Wow... they must be really desperate... Even with prior 121 experience I wouldn't even do it, unless I had time in type. But that's just me.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, and scary. Like you said probably not a great idea. CFIs going to CA then flying up north? Real smart Gulfstream

CFI Guy I would take it if you are up to it they will let you know if you aren't ready for it but it is a one time jump the line I would take it if I were you.
Scary advice...

CFI Guy. If you have no prior 121 or 1900 experience, you aren't ready for it.

And Nancy, I don't agree with your advice. Are you or have you been a 121 captain? I ask because your advice comes off as if you haven't.

You don't go to upgrade thinking "If I am not ready, they will let me know," you should know if you feel ready and then the training will actually confirm or deny that initial feeling. Taking command of any commercial aircraft is something that should not be considered just because it will help as a "one time jump"

Plus, a 121 training bust is not the way to find out you were not ready.

Ah lets see yes I have and Am a CA and yes you don't want a 121 Bust however he/she may be from a larger flight school and may be up to the task. I have seen CFI's go from teaching to left seat of the 121 aircraft sometimes it is good other times not so much. Therefore Juice maybe just go back to the pay cut forum, that will be a sad sight to see you guys accept it because you are "doing it right" over on the other side of the fence.

You probably got the free 737 type from that scholarship, right?

Your logic is still flawed. What does being a CFI at a large flight school have to do with being a Captain at a 121 carrier.

Smell that, cookies are done.

ahhh yes well too bad because I know of 3 CFI's to the Saab currently employed by your employer so why not ask them what they think? I will agree with you it may or may not be a good choice that is for the pilot and the company to decide maybe if you are asking it on a forum you may not be ready.

I am going to decline the offer. I do not want to be bound to a 24 month contract ($24,000), and I don't think it is would be a wise move, having zero part 121 experience and zero time in type.
