1-Study hard but pace yourself.
2-Memory Items and limitations are key to any 121 training, so know those very well.
3-Take a Day off from all studying, just relax and enjoy sunny Florida at least one day a week. There's a tone to do in SF so take advantage of that.
4-Have a good attitude. Attitude goes a very long way in training. If you show initiative and are willing to learn and show that in training, you'll be fine.
5- Be respectful of the pilots that have been there for a while. Remember, that 12K bonus you're getting is a direct reflection the concessionary LOA that was turned down. It's a slap in the face to all the pilots that turned it down. So enjoy it, put it in your 401K or invest it.
6- Turn off your Droid or iPhone in class.
7- Don't talk about your previous flying job in class, nobody really cares and it's annoying.
8- Be positive. Silver sucks, lets face it, but it's what YOU make of it.
Good Luck

Thanks for the responses, haven't flown in the 121 environment since I was furloughed after 09/11/2001. And I depend on and respect heavily those that have come before me. I have no illusions of the challenges of being a regional airline pilot, it's hard work period. I welcome the challenge am ready to give my airline career one more chance keeping my chin up and a positive attitude.....that's the best I can do.

Mostly FO's leaving and about 5-10 per month. Either leaving profesion all together or going to a express jet or equivalent. We have guys go to Spirit and JetBlue on occasion, but its been a few years since someone has gone to a major from here.

Guys, I need some honest input. I know Silver isnt the cream of the crop, but recent events have me in search of a new job. I need something that has the POTENTIAL to keep me close to home(FL area) and Silver is about the closest to guaranteeing that. How long will an FO be on reserve? How many days off per month? How many credit hours per month? Are trips commutable at all? Is it easy for a Silver guy to get a JS on a Silver plane? I really appreciate the help
