You'll prob end up in iad for a few months or get fl right out of training you never know. Upgrade was at 18months and decreasing now if you meet the reqs

18 months to upgrade this could be it

18 is only the current timeline....as long as you have someone to replace you in the right seat you can upgrade sooner than 18 months...

How soon can one expect to hold a line in IAD?
What's a better option in order to maximize your paycheck, reserve or line?

I've been reading up on this thread since last year and I saw that the United benefits went poof. I also read that Silver started a codeshare with JetBlue though, any thoughts/ideas on whether Silver crew might start seeing benefits again?

I currently fly 135 out of FLL but am planning a move up to DC in November. Therefore Silver seems like a pretty good option because I'd like to eventually return to South Florida, especially if DC doesn't work out.

If anyone is in the Fort Lauderdale area and is open to answering a few of my questions and wants to be my referral please let me know.

I had the interview July 1 and it was a great experience great bunch of guys I got there at 930 am to study at American Flyers and Camillo HR guy says we don't have time here take the exam passing is 80% basic IFR questions no ATP stuff. Sim keep it level and scan and HR was 30 mins basically get to know you and be honest with your answer. Driving back home from FLL not 2 hours on I75 Northbound I get a call from HR needing me to do Drug/Alcohol/Fingerprint for 7/20 class date. What a great feeling to get back to aviation and the $12,000 bonus will help financial wise till I upgrade.

Silver is re-opening Tampa and cutting Orlando base in half? Anybody else hear this? Also heard they are cutting all service to Gainesville? Sounds like Gulfstream 2.0

Makes since, also heard today from a friend that august bid lines will have all day trips, looks like silvers trying to save money by avoiding hotel exspences, it might work, then again i know there are a fair amount of pilots that commute in, so will they relocate to bases like fll, mco ? Havnt heard if iad is going to out and backs also, no more key west over nighters ! Glad i left before that happened lol

I see Silver planes in FLL/MCO/TPA sitting idle a lot. Serious question. Do they have enough pilots or are they struggling to fill gaps from serious understaffing?
