Great Lakes' Part 135 plan

I make 17.00 per hour, but that's contact time. Like I said, by the time you factor in weather, cancels, etc. it ends up being not 17.00 per hour. We should as professionals get paid as professionals, but honestly. I wouldn't have taken on a big loan debt burden, if it wasn't for the "passion" of flying. If you don't have passion to fly, then don't be a pilot. Period! IMO

Agreed. My last 8 months of instructing, I made $32k. That's twice as much as a Lakes F.O. makes in a year. Maybe, just maybe, Redbird, you can do some legwork on your own instead of waiting for it to be handed to you. If you like Aerosim so much, move there. I got 1400 dual given at a FL flight school in less than a year and a half because I worked my tail off looking for a good job instead of waiting for it to fall in my lap.
True! But honestly, when you work for an employer who doesn't allow outside contracting to teach, or the time to work on the side, my schedule is usually morning to night, it doesn't work to hunt for time.
1,400 dual given, I bet that hustle was crazy, and you were racked from teaching.

With this new ATP rule no airline will touch you with less multi, interviewing is different, but HIRING, you need that 50 multi. Pinnacle, American Eagle, I know hired with less than their minimum's that were posted for multi, but not with this new ATP rule.

Air Choice One is going to be flying Ironwood, MI to ORD. About 300 miles that leg will be in a Caravan and they pay their FOs $18 an hour. Not saying this is anything special but how does lakes think they're going to be able to remain competitive as more of these actual 135s pick up their routes with lower cost operations?

Not quite you need 50 multi, but only 25 in an airplane. You can realistically expect to start as a new hire with less than 50 multi, and obtain the rest in the sim.
