Poor Great Lakes :(

A CFI job would be more fun, less stressful and pay better. Lakes is only for those who want some fast turbine PIC before they make their next move.
Commuting to CA for EMB 120 would be better than flying for GL. You'll hold a line quickly and could bid into DEN or COS on the CRJ after one year. There are not too many things worse than commuting but GL is probably one of them.

I have an interview at Express jet in early Sept. but I've heard that DEN is really senior so that would mean a commute for me which I will not do. I also have an interview with RAH in mid Sept. I have heard that the Q400 in DEN is very senior and they are closing the EMB-170 or 190 base in DEN. Again that means I would have to commute. I have not put in at Skywest because they are only hiring into the EMB-120 which means a commute for me since they do not have a Brasilia base in DEN. I also put in at RAH/Frontier and was told all new hires would be going out to a new base on the east coast and DEN is very senior. Again this means a commute.
So it goes back my original question of what is going on at Great Lakes. Have they stopped all hiring and interviewing? Not that I'm dying to go work there, I just know for me that it would be a good fit since there is no way I will ever commute.

And DEN is senior for every airline. Even GLA will most likely stick you in Farmington, Pierre, or Fort Dodge as a new hire. You'd be better off going for XJT and taking the easy commute to Kansas City. Then in 5 or 7 years, maybe you could hold DEN as an FO...

First off, I'm interviewing because I have been out of the game for a few years. Also I set the interviews up before I knew how senior all these DEN bases are. As for Great Lakes I think I would hold DEN faster than all the rest since they are the armpit of the industry and everyone is leaving there. Just a thought.

Yup def the easiest place to get violated and it not be your fault, just too much all comes down to the PIC. I know that sounds like ya of course it does. But all of you that work there know exactly what im talking about

I figure that have not responded to me because they know I would turn them down. Seems like they won't last long with the new ATP requirements unless they make some serious changes.
I sure hope the investors of lakes know what is happening and are ready to lose their investment in that company.

do any lakes people think you'll get DEN out of training? or would you get farmington or some other outstation base? Even with lakes, there's no guarantees you won't have to commute. I would encourage you to take a step back and look at the big picture
