Poor Great Lakes :(

Do they have a board of directors, or is this company just the work of Doug Voss? I see they are publicly traded-

Just an assessment of what I see, I'd say don't come here assuming you'll get Denver anytime within your 15 month contract timeframe..

JetA Heartburn:They have currency requirements (I think 80 hours in the last 6 months and 35 hours in the last 90 days) so if you don't have that maybe thats why you haven't got a call. If you REALLY decide to go then I would suggest at least saving $7500 so if you don't really like it you can leave whenever you choose and not have to stress about money.

I don't know about now but back in October when I got done with IOE I sat reserve in Fort Dodge (FOD) for that month. The very next month I got DEN and have held it since. I got furloughed Aug. 1 (1500 hour rule thanks congress) so I'm not too intuned with whats going on right now as far as what a new hire can expect. They are so short on FO's that I wouldn't be surprised if you got B1900 DEN right out of training. Having said that I also wouldn't be surprised if you got E120 Williston.

Everyone else is hiring and it will take almost 2 yers at lakes to get 1000 sic so no more lighting upgrade. Other regionals are around 5 years and dropping, lakes won't get any lower due to the reg. so you better like the place because you probably be there atleast 3 years and 2 as an FO

Obviously I'm not going to lakes because they have not even called me. Must be the currency requirement. I have not flown since 2009. Just seems funny if they are hurting for pilots that they would drop the currency requirement and/or contract for training.
I have been contacted by many other regionals for interviews knowing that I'm way out of currency.

Great Lakes is usually firm on the currency mins.
Since there is no autopilot in the sim (or the plane) we have a higher than normal washout rate in training due to poor instrument scan in some applicants.

Oh wait. I am sure Great Lakes provides for a cost of living allowance in higher cost areas, right?
