It really does depend on the company, though. Up until this summer I was the lowest time guy at my current outfit with ~4k, about half of which has been in Alaska.

Definitely want to reiterate what I said before and what TallFlyer has said a few times: putting some time in a sled, regardless of your experience beforehand, will teach you a lot and you won't regret it.
Experience can go along way, everyone always said that being a CFI taught you more than just being a pilot. I always thought that’s crazy but, then I got my CFI and began instructing. What an eye opener! Even after teaching for most of the last 1000 I have flown I still learn something new everyday.

When I worked in Homer we called the communities that we served in The Bay "The Cush Bush"

Don't think anyone thinks Juneau is the bush, lol.

But hey... you want to find the pretty women, you’ve got to go to Barrow or Dead Horse... Problem is they’re hiding behind the trees.

Finishing up my ratings now and closing in on 1000 TT. Really interested in some 207 or 208 (icing on the cake) flying in Alaska. Most of my time is TW in 180's/185's, not sure that it matters though. I've been to Alaska, but never worked there...but enough to know that Juneau is a legit nice town. Anyone know if Seaplanes or any other operators are interested in guys that are just below 135 IFR minimums? Thanks in advance.

135 IFR mins not required, because 135 VFR only requires 500 TT and 25 night XC, and in a 207 or PA32 you're going to be strictly 135 Day VFR. Maybe night VFR out west, but the night VFR terrain clearance requirements make trying to operate that way in SE about impossible.

BTW, having that 185 TW time in your logbook will help you down the road up there. I doubt there are many 135 operations flying them (maybe up north in the Brooks?) but generally speaking that aircraft is well regarded up north.

Thank you for the info, really appreciate it. Do you happen to know what kind of hours guys need to be competitive at Seaplanes or any other Juneau operators in a 208 on wheels? Open to the Ravn Connect opportunity as well, but seems hard to get info on what they are looking for on their Caravan CA’s.
