Keep updating your times and touching base with recruiting.

9 E120. We blew an engine up on one in PHX and now it's a parts plane. We have 4 FO in the March class and 2 or 3 more in the April class.

Chances are, we will be stocked on E120 FO for a while.

I see on the AMF webpage that they are now requiring 750 TT and 25 ME for VFR Navajo captains. It seems 500 PIC and 25 ME will still get you into an EMB 120 right seat.

https://w3.ameriflight.com/pilot-opportunities/

Do you have a link to a webpage which says they are not hiring VFR captains at this time?

In regard to not hiring VFR Captains, I meant not at 500TT, but thank you for letting me know.

StartUp161WanaB 04-07-2017 11:54 AM

Can someone correct me if I am misunderstanding this

If I get hired around 800TT they will put me in a SIC position to build my time up to 135IFR minimums
After successful completion of 135 checkride, I can hold a regular line depending on aircraft and location

Is there a training contract for this?

I also read about rotation schedule for captains, will the company pay for airline back and forth for me on the rotation?

PT6 Flyer 04-08-2017 10:43 PM

Are there any videos of the flows for the Navajo on YouTube? Please post the links if you have them.

Hi!

If you get hired into the Accelerated Captain Program, you'll come in at around 800 TT, 25 ME, 300 XC (defined as point to point), 50 night, 500 PIC, and 75 instrument.
You'll fly as an FO in a BE99 until you reach 1,000TT. You'll then upgrade to restricted Captain in a BE99 (at this point you'll hold a regular line in a specific base). Restricted = lower weather mins and additional mentoring. Once you reach 1,200TT, you'll become a regular unrestricted Captain.

There is not a training contract.

While you are an FO, you will essentially be TDYing/on a rotation schedule. Ameriflight will pay for hotel, airfare (on a hard ticket), and per diem ($35/day). Once you become a restricted or non-restricted Captain, you will hold a line. If at any point you TDY, Ameriflight will pay for hotel, airfare (on a hard ticket), and per diem ($35/day).

Hope that helps!

FO ACP program is asking for 50ME per the recruiting material/AMF job board. Is the ME time change an error or is the 50 ME ideal vs required?

Also will they be hiring any more regular EMB 120 FOs in the next month or two or is AMF moving towards the FO ACP program entirely?

Any info is appreciated.

They will be hiring into both.

Ameriflight typically staffs the E120 at about 150% capacity. Right now we have 9 planes, 8 FO on the line, and 6 more in training. E120 hiring for the next few months will be limited.

Thanks for pointing that out!
We actually lowered it from the 50 to 25 and just haven't updated all the job postings.

We're keeping our EMB-120 FOs, but at the moment we are at full capacity so the position isn't available on our careers site.
Since we only have 9 EMB-120s, it's more rare to find an open FO spot in those.

What is TDY, hard ticket?

I have about 130 multi (Seminole)but have not flown multi since 2008
Before I apply, I will def get current

So basically I will have to relocate until I get to unrestricted captain position?

So based on the last time I saw EMB 120 FO positions on the board (Oct) it will roughly be 6 more months until AMF will be hiring another "batch" of FOs?

Essentially, you'll fly anywhere we need you in the system while you are an ACP FO. So you won't have a base, but you don't have to relocate. We fly you where we need you and pay for your housing. Once you become an unrestricted Captain, you'll get a base.

Hard ticket means we purchase the ticket for you. That way you do not have to jumpseat or use CASS. It's a guaranteed seat.

You are good on Multi for the Accelerated Captain Program! What are your other times like?

I just spoke with our Senior Director of Recruiting who says our EMB-120 FO positions should be open again on our careers site in approximately 3 months. Hope that helps!

Is it possible to go from the ACP program to the Home Base 18on/12off?

What about if you have more than 1000 but not 1200?

I'm really interested in the home base.

Thanks

Hi, there!

At the moment, we only do home basing for type-rated equipment (1900, SA227, EMB120).
So going directly from ACP to home based won't be an option.
Our preferred min for 1900 is 1,800. As soon as you hit that you could transition and become home based.
If you are at 1,000 but not yet at 1,200, you would only be eligible for the ACP.

Hope that helps! :)

What are the SJU Metroliner schedules? Current 121 captain.

That helps a lot.

So in that case I would fly for 200 hours and when I upgrade I would have a base?

Thanks for your help

Does anyone know the details on the Flow through agreements? Also I have 1800 hours 350 Turbine 400 multi and 3 type ratings would that be good enough to be a captain on the EMB-120? Also if not how are the 1900s what kind of avionics do they have any GPS and do they ever fly as a crew in the 1900.

Hi, there!
It looks like we currently have 4 Metro schedules in SJU at the moment.
Here's a breakdown:
1. M - Leaves SJU at 1010, fly 4 legs, arrive SJU 1947.
Tu-F - Leaves SJU at 1154, fly 4 legs, arrive SJU 2000.

2. M - Leaves SJU at 0900, fly 2 legs, sit, arrive SJU 2034.
Tu-F - Leaves SJU at 1045, fly 2 legs, sit, arrive SJU 2034.

3. M - Leaves SJU at 0830, fly 3 legs, arrive SJU 2026.
Tu-F - Leaves SJU at 1030, fly 3 legs, arrive SJU 2026.

4. M - Leaves SJU at 0850, fly 3 leg, arrive SJU 2008.
Tu-F - Leaves SJU at 1100, fly 3 legs, arrive SJU 2008.

Sort of!
If you come in at 1,000, you'll be an FO for 50 hours (our FAA waiver requires you to be an FO with us for 50 hours and until you hit 1,000).
While you're an FO, you'll fly wherever we need you in the system.
After, you'll be a restricted Captain and will have a base. Restricted = lower weather mins and additional mentoring.
When you hit 1,200TT, you'll be an unrestricted Captain and will have a base.
Once you hit 1,800, you will be at our preferred min for 1900 Captains and can transition. With that position, you can either have a base or be home based depending on your wants/needs and what is available.

I heard that some of these hours doesn't work for ATP min, could you please clarify on that?

Again, thanks for all your help on this thread

You are certainly welcome!

That is true. Your time as an FO would not count.
We are able to take pilots into the program at 800TT and no matter what time you come into the program with you have to fly 50 hours as an FO for us (part of the waiver).
So, if you come in at 800TT, those first 200 hours as an FO will not count toward your ATP.
If you come in at 1,000TT, those first 50 hours that you are required to fly as an FO will not count toward your ATP.
Once you hit the 1,000TT and 50 FO hours, you'll become a restricted Captain. The hours you fly as a restricted Captain count toward your ATP.
At 1,200TT, you become a non-restricted Captain and of course those hours count toward your ATP, as well.

Hi Freight Dogs,

I sent you a PM. It's great to finally get someone at AMF who answers questions.

PrettyFlyGuy 04-18-2017 09:27 AM

Is there something going on in the main office? Myself and 2 other guys have applied for captain positions and have yet to hear anything. But my friend with 700 hrs received a call the next day for a spot right seat in the 99 till he hits 135 mins. If they are so desperate for captains why not contact people who meet 135 minimums?

Hi, there!

I'm sorry to hear about this!
Would you mind sending me your first and last name (and the first and last name of the 2 other guys)? I can look you all up in our system and determine your status/get someone to contact you. Feel free to PM the names.

Thank you!

Thanks I appreciate that but I was more curious at this point than anything. My buddies are in ground school with their new employers and I have a few offers already. I first applied the end of February and again in late March and was curious if i messed something up or if my qualifications were not enough but have received lots of phone calls since so was just curious if something else was going on. Thanks

I see. I'm not aware of anything going on.
We had a minor change in staffing with one of our recruiters going to Frontier a few weeks ago. The recruiting department has tried not to let anyone slip through the cracks, but obviously there has been some sort of mess up. I would like to apologize! We normally get back to every applicant (even if they mess something up or don't meet our qualifications).

Would that be Zeke? Because I have fallen through the cracks 3 times and finally gave up. This after an apology from your chief pilot at a hiring event. All three said they wanted to hire me. Zeke was the last one I spoke with and gave me a verbal offer then left for vacation. I've heard nothing since.

I know you guys had a complete turn over of your HR dept recently but it doesn't sound like it was for the better. If Amflight wants to survive the pilot shortage you guys might want to get your act together.

Feel free to send me a private message if you want any information about Ameriflight.

I'm just finishing up my time with the company after almost a year of flying the line as a E120 first officer. If you have questions regarding that program, the quality of life, or other general questions - feel free to reach out.

Captain stuff, schedule stuff, etc - Best to ask elsewhere.
