Another question, is there any training contract for the ACP program? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Is there any regulation that keeps you from using an iPad in your plane regardless as long as you're meeting the requirement of having paper charts in the plane? I can't imagine that some still wouldn't have it on board. I mean people have been doing it for years anyway.

True. I'm not talking about legal or certified, just talking about what people actually do. Non commercial pilots for years have been using this technology even though it's not 'legal', even for instrument flying or approaches. I just mean if you have one, it isn't actually illegal to take it on board in 135 ops, right? It's like the 'honor system' that you won't use it 'illegally', right?

It's illegal to have it powered up in the cockpit on a 135 flight during critical phases of flight.

Got it. That's what I was wondering.
135.144. (b)(6) means if it's approved, you can use it. If not, you can't power it up. And without an EFB program, it's not approved. |

Not approved yet for foreflight, Jeppesen paper charts for now. We keep hearing that the electronic flight bag is in the works.

Never said it wasn't late. But we have a chief pilot team now that is working to take care of several issues that should have been taken care of years ago.
Would you name some of those issues? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

How about that the Pilot Supplement to the employee handbook (now called the Pilot Assistance Guide, or PAG) hadn't been updated in 14 years?

do you have any programs for 650TT pilots?
We hire pilots into the right seat of our E120s with that kind of time. Just depends on how much PIC and multi time you have. You can PM me with your resume and fill out an online application on Ameriflight.com. Also, once you reach 800TT, you are eligible for our "time building to captain" program. Again, we would need to evaluate your other times (point to point cross country, night and IMC) that would be required for part 135 IFR captains. And just so there is no confusion, we don't transfer pilots back and forth in these programs. If you come in as an E120 FO, you would stay flying the 120 until you have the hours to transfer to a BE99 captain. Since you are already building time in the 120, you don't need to transfer to the 99 FO program. |
Are they hiring FO’ s now? I only see captain postitions avaiable on their website. I emailed one of the recruiters to find out, but he never responded to my email. My question is should I send my resume in now or wait till they are actively hiring? I know they get a lot of resumes from low time pilot like myself and I just don’t want to end up on the bottom pile of resumes.

We do have a place for a pilot with 650 hours. I'm just not positive if we have any current openings.

-Shane 945TT 43 multi 230 CC 107 instrument Quick questions. How much night time do you have? Is your CC time any point to point or just over 50 miles? |
Hello there guys. Any information about quality of life in the Brasilia and Aguadilla base in particular? :)

We are starting our December class today. The recruiters have been busy getting this class set and we had decided not to put any FOs in it. But they should be focusing on January class not and I believe we are hiring FOs for that. So I would say get your stuff in.
Quick questions. How much night time do you have? Is your CC time any point to point or just over 50 miles? As for night time I have 46.5 and 18.1 is CC point-to-point. |

1600TT 590XC pt.-pt. 300ME (250 PIC turbine) 100 night 130 instrument (27 actual) I don't know specifics of what is available there. I would say put in your application and talk to a recruiter. They would have a better idea what is open. You have the times for it. |
Oh okay, thanks! 👌

There isn't actually a Los Angeles base. ONT or BUR are the two SoCal bases.

Do you have any idea how much they pay B1900 PIC?
This is pretty accurate, except that the BE1900 retention bonus is now 20%, which brings it up to match the SA227 pay scale. |
Here is my data.
Part 135 pt-pt 647.6 Total time 1537.6 PIC 1405.7 IFR actual 25.5 IFR simulated 109.6 Multi 50.2 Night 75.0 What aircraft would I be looking at and is it likely I could get KBFI? Any suggestions on how to prepare for training? |

Be1900 first year salary is $57,000. But wait... there's more! The Be1900 also has a bonus of $10,000 after IOE and $10,000 18 months after hire date. The Be1900 has an annual 20% turbine retention bonus starting at 24 months. There's also the all-aircraft bonuses, like the Peak to Peak bonus which pays out $10,000 per peak season you fly through. Hope that helps! |

I really want to apply with Ameriflight but have a question about time off.
I have a vacation planned for 2 weeks end of March going into early April. Tickets purchased and reservations made. Will I have to wait to apply until after my vacation or could I start sooner and be able get the time off? Not worried about vacation pay I know I would be a new employee but would lose a bunch of money if I can’t go non refundable and all. But I would hate to have to wait until mid April to apply. Anyone know what their policy would be for something like this? |
