Honestly I'm not sure what they will do because the people over there that I've talked to said their planes are all busy, and they are short airframes....itll be interesting to see how they will do 4-6 flights a day on the proposed city pairs with this EAS contract. Good luck

Probably exactly how we opened up our ALB routes. We thought we wouldn't have enough planes to do those routes either but it worked out just fine.

I heard they are finally closing Florida down... Seems wierd considering 5 402s used to be based here doing a lot of flying from EYW and TPA...

Good because I just purchased tickets from RSW to EYW on 1/11/09. I decided to spend the extra cash on the flight because the other option was a 3hr boat ride....yeah that might not go well!!! Since I am planning to give my girlfriend a ring on the beaches of Key West!:)

Now pilots...that's another story. :D

Seems to me there's going to be a lot of TDY going on this winter until we can get a couple classes through. But what do I know...I just drive.

It didn't go back on line, so insert your own rumour here. MX told me we are getting 402C serial #00001, spent its whole career running freight in AK. A total of 10 more airframes are allegedly headed our way. There are lots of 402's out there. I'm confident that we will get just enought to make the operation work. Just.

Yeah, that first one is in paint. 407BK was in for pre-purchase inspection. The fact that it's back at Island tells you how that went! The boys are in AK right now.

So we have the first and last made C402s. Not sure if that's a good or bad distinction.

The Florida operation appears to end after Fantasy Fest - friends called today saying they were trying to book a flight over Christmas and Continental told them that the service ends in November.

A quick check on coair.com shows the flights do not exist anymore after October 31st.

not even on gulfstream through FLL or TPA?

I believe we are breaking free from Continental in FL and going back to branded CapeAir flying.
