The schedules are the same. Beechjet crews work a bit harder than Hawker crews.

QOL depends on your definition. In theory, the Hawker has longer range and would do longer trips. However, Hawkers do Beechjet trips REGULARLY. Most people can almost stand up in a Hawker. Only Bilbo Baggins can in the Beechjet. The Hawker doesn't have a honeypot. The Hawker has an APU. The Hawker has ailerons and doesn't feel heavy on the controls.

The Beechjets all have the same Pro Line 4 avionics, unlike the Hawkers. Most of TMC's Hawkers are old 800XP's with Honeywell avionics. Only a handful have Pro Line 21.

I have two jet type ratings now and want to mix it up. What are the odds of getting into the King Airs at TMC?

Odds aren't good. We had one king air and recently sold it.

I predict you will receive a call from DE between 8:01 and 8:01:43. Expect a brief phone interview, then an invitation to the greater Elkhart metroplex for a "sim" eval and face to face interview with DE ("Chief" pilot) and HR. You won't get a single technical question. The sim eval is done at some airport in Michigan about an hour drive from Elkhart. It's some crappy Cessna Citation FTD. You'll do a takeoff and RUUDY4 SID from TEB, then an ILS. All you need to do is pull the power back after takeoff, hit WENTZ at 1,500 feet and 200 kts, then come around and do an ILS.

The invitation to interview is at your own expense, although they will put you in a hotel the day before or day of. It's cheaper to fly in to ORD and rent a car than it is to fly in to SBN.

Don't forget to save $400 for your uniform!

last interview gouge on aviationinterviews.com said that airline tickets and rental cars were paid for by the company. Also looking at the schedules on flight aware they dont look all that bad, maybe things have gotten better. I dont see anything that is scaring me away. I am hoping for a call!!
