I am new to the forum and have a question also. My son is in Training @ Wichita as a FO and he lives in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was hoping to be based in the southern states but Southern has based him in Franklin, Pennsylvania. Does anyone have any idea how much time Southern will allow him to move all away across the country once he is back from training?

Does anyone have any updated contact info for Julie? Is she still the contact point? I've tried to send an email and call the generic number. I have heard nothing for two months. Just would like to chat with someone to verify my application was received. Thanks all.

FO pay starts at $12 an hour for the first 6 months then $18 an hour after that. If you sign on with the Mesa Cadet Program you get a $10,000 bonus when you sign it and an additional $5,000 bonus when you hit 1,000 hours. Both of with will need to be repaid if you choose to break the terms of the contracts.

From what I’ve been told they are currently hiring FO’s but classes aren’t available until after the new year.
FO pay starts at $12/hour and goes up to $18/hour after 6 months from DOH.
If you sign up with the Mesa Cadet Program you’ll get a $10,000 signing bonus when you sign it and $5,000 when you hit 1,000 hours
Feel free to ask any questions you have?!

Yes. They are usually (strategicly) around the 300 hour mark. Training contract required, upgrade to captain at 135 minimums then 500 hrs as captain. Flow thru to Mesa with a $10k signing bonus and contract (of which I have no details).
There are two ways to look at this; (1) it’s a great opportunity for a low time commercial pilot to achieve their goal of getting to the regionals and avoiding the instructing route (2) it locks your career opportunities for the next ~3 years, unless you can afford to buy out the contract(s). It’s worth noting, Mesa pays the $10k at the “interview”.
FWIW, as a new hire you will be going to Pennsylvania. The SAE first officers do get travel bennies with Mesa so it helps with non- rev commutes.
