Are their metro's auto-pilot equipped?? If they do not have an auto-pilot, and / or it is not authorized for use per the ops spec's, then under part 135 IFR a second in command IS most certainly required; single pilot aircraft or not. (see 135.101) In addition, did you work for Key Lime or know people that do, because otherwise I don't really understand how / why you have such an intimmate knowledge of their op's specs to know whether they require two pilots or not.

"however in 135 you must take a checkride to be PIC....the SIC's don't"
Says who? You're making it up as you go along...

"First officer program participants enrolled after July, 2006 who sucessfully complete a metroliner program will receive a Metroliner SIC Type Rating as part of their program. Key Lime Air will provide a minimum of 40 hours of ground school to prepare the student for a FAR part 135 SIC Check ride"
The only thing I hate worse than defending some PFJ outfit is listening to somebody who should know better making stuff up at APC. It's just not classy.
Took me 7.5 seconds at Google to figure it out for sure.

I was under the impression that this position was not a PFT program. The climbto350.com job posting states, "position is full time with great salary and benefits."
freightdog, I graduated from SIU in 2003. How about you?

I'm pretty sure that when the captain gets his type rating they put an SIC limitation on the rating then no one can question the legalities of the recorded flight time. I know for sure of one other company that does this.

1) It is operated under 135 (or possibly 121), and the OPSPECS require an SIC and;
2) The SIC is typed, if the airplane requires that (SIC or PIC type) and;
3) The SIC has completed whatever training and qualification is specified in the OPSPEC, and is current per 91 and the OPSPEC.
Be careful about part 91 repo legs though...
1) You may not be able to log SIC time on a 91 leg.
2) If you actually fly the 91 leg, and are qualified and current to be PIC, you can log it as PIC (but not if the captain logs it as PIC too, you cannot both log a 91 leg in a single-pilot airplane).
I'm not 100% clear on the 91 legs, so that would be something to research.
Also be sure and look both ways before crossing, lots of funny animals out there
