The flow should never be one’s primary reason for choosing any airline as it can be taken away in an instant. As for pay, I live comfortably in Philadelphia and have no issues with the money I make here (year 2 FO). With that being said, I also don’t have ridiculous student loans or other debt like some.

I for one take serious issue being one of the lowest paid regionals, especially during contract negotiations

And some of us lived on Fo rsv 72 hours at 31/hr. New hires are making what 1st year cas made 3 or 4 years ago. Hope it was one of the guys I saw Of picture of today. Flying in Nikes and did the walk around wearing his Bose headset. He probably has flight pair and a 2nd A20 for the walk. Possibly a 3rd for DHs. Maybe he needs EDV $ to make those payments. Pdt has become what Psa always was unfortunately.

I started at $27 per hour on reserve at this place. I was underpaid then and I'm in a lot better position now. That doesn't mean Im not going to fight for at least industry standard pay.
I think a lot of people here came crashing to earth with the disappearance of 3x premium. Made them realize our base pay is what matters. And the company brought this realization upon us during contract negotiations... not very smart on their part

Nobody deserves to be making less than $60,000 here. Period. It takes 4 years and thousands of dollars to even reach this job level. None of us deserve to be struggling to get by. Just because your level of an acceptable wage for the job was XXX back 3 years ago doesn't mean everyone here felt the same way.
At it sits right now triple premium makes being a FO here bearable. Work rules and pay need to make some serious strides not just here at Piedmont, but in the regional industry as a whole. The disappearance of triple premium puts all the more importance on how our negotiation progresses from here on out, and I really hope that people like you aren't willing to settle for less than you are truly worth.

I love seeing posts like this. "Back when I started I made XXX so you should all stop whining".

Pro tip: Don't plan on anything beyond base pay for your day to day life, if you do, you'll be disappointed when things such as triple prem disappear.

Can’t be taken away as in “American has informed us they will not be holding a new hire class during the month of .......”??? See how long a flow sticks around if the economy takes a downturn and the company starts to react. I hope it never happens, but this industry can be so volatile.

If you want to argue a catastrophic turn of events that leads to AA no longer hiring pilots, then I think the flow is going to be pretty low on the proverbial totem pole of problems every pilot will be facing

I think the point he's trying to make is that there has been substantial progress over the past few years from what it was. Give it time, it'll improve. It doesn't happen overnight.
