Default Couple of things to add

FO’s who have 750 hours 121 get captains
pay as long as you have bid an upgrade. At 950 hours depending on the LOA chosen you get a 30000 bonus if you decide to flow otherwise 3 years to pay it back once accepted. New hires past June 1st will be on the new LOA. This is on top of all the bonuses coming to Piedmont in the first place which include prior 121 time, type rated in the ERJ, passing LOE, showing up the first day and 1 year bonus. The entire bonus package to work at Piedmont and flow cannot exceed 150000.

in not sure where he got the five year number, but you’re right, the wave will run at least through 2030.

I mean it's cool but in 2 years you're back down to 100 bucks an hour right as a Captain?

I don't think so. The pay will fall after 2 years, but they can't afford to go back to the old payscale. They will have a mass exodus on their hands. I'd bet it drops no more than 30% off of the premium.

There’s no way this is true. Or maybe you misunderstood. Your buddies in two years at the legacies will be senior FOs or even upgrading making 250k a year. Not to mention they’re at a Legacy. At PDT they’d go back to what 100 to 140 an hour still doing the regional thing. Are you sure they really said they wanted to come back to the regional? Haha

If your year 5 your effectively at the 20 year pay.... Crazy... Even if you go down there true rate without the override.. crazy pay.. I wonder how long it will last... Give AA a little bit of time to figure out the mess they created.

If you think the Legacies are all rainbows, sunshine and Nirvana, I am sorry to tell you they're not. All the places have their downsides, regionals and majors. These two guys are in training and at the bottom of the seniority list. PDT pilots will now be outearning them for the foreseeable future, as it's very likely these higher pay rates will be extended beyond 2024. Meanwhile, the economoy could slow further and my buddies will be stuck in the right seat of a NB making less than they would have as PDT LCA's.

It's crazy times for sure. But AA has some pretty deep pockets that are causing pilots industry wide to turn heads and give our ole girl PDT a second look.

The Koolaid they’re giving out over there is pretty strong. Yep be stuck at PDT or a legacy, hard decision.

Everything in this industry (and others) is cyclical. Good times right now for airline pilots and wannabes. In a few years it could be quite a different picture. Enjoy the pay now while you can, but don't make long-term financial choices based on this new pay deal. Don't rush to conclusions about what it will be in 2-3 years. All it takes is one life-changing national or global event (9-11, covid). The one constant in this industry is change.
