You do realize that poster was himself making the same absolute statement you take issue with, yes ?

In this case, he does work at Eagle, but has yet to make his first factually worthwhile post and is stuck in someplace called "Joeyland". Must have fell off his horse one too many times...........

And you all wonder why we don't get any respect as educated professionals. One need only read one page of one thread anywhere on this board and it gets pretty obvious. (sigh...)

We only need a GED to become regional pilots... Who told you we were educated professionals

Because an educated person would know that's such a large sample size of the industry.

LoL scary world ain't it. JK most of the guys without a college degree are smarter than people with it. At least in our field. I'm sitting right seat while somebody younger than me is captain. Funny how things work out. I'm just jealous I didn't think of it before.

Ironic here no? Kind of seems like the above post about PSA/PDT takes an absolute statement too....

Side note..... It would be very easy to put CRJ700's on PSA and get rid of CRJ200's over night.... Every pilot on property is already trained and checked out on both.... That would mean absolutely zero training cost involved if more large RJ's were indeed purchased by USairways with a place to be put to be determined. Not sure how easy it would be to take AE and get rid of E145s and get all their pilots trained on the CRJ700 or larger and or cost effective that would be as well..... There is a place for all three in a combined airline.... Now lets stop worrying about any of these because none of us have a say anyways in what will happen.

Fine, then some idiot just might merge the three and find value I don't see.

However I do see small value in PSA because on the 700's as you stated, but that depends on if they own them, lease, lease termination dates, and many other financial factors.

Is there a value in any regional? No, but are they needed as a necessary evil in today's way the majors are structured....... We all will see what happens a year or two after a merger.... Until then it is pointless to speculate.... You could also then argue what value does TSA, AWAC, CHQ E145's etc provide...... Much like AE and their 145's as well no? See why this whole speculation is pointless?
