Hey we land the C-17 in 3500 no problem all the time! And it's empty weight is 288K add some fuel and cargo and you're at 400K landing on a 3500ft runway...but really we only use like 2000 for landing and 1500-2000 for takeoff. In fact in Iraq we would often be off the ground at 370K in 1500ft.

Bah they were probably worried about the confined space the runway was located in, not so much the length. Great ALG and PDT pilots and some not so much from both airlines. Flown with all kinds over the years

i think the good ol boy network at pdt has had plenty more incidents than alg did that the pharaoh over looked that would have gotten alg people fired...
i never heard of any such instances, and the few times i went into hhh i don't see why there would be a problem, but then i'd done 33r, perhaps these supposed alg guys had never gone there and had been coddled with just phl flying
like someone else posted, there's good guys and there's ass hats from both sides...

Hey dash8... Are you trying to start a legacy ALG vs PDT fight here??? You little rabble rouser, as you self-proclaim... Actually had one of the best overnights with a cool ALG crew in DC just before I quit PDT after the merger was announced. I am sure you were not part of that crew.
billyho... Do I know you???

I was pointing out an apparent difference in ops, and billy boy turned it into personal, alg/pdt thing, not I
ooooh and nice attempt at a personal dig there too, classy
so now two pdt guys have impugned alg people without provocation
