P90X - Insanity - Tapout XT?
#11
I'm into week 4 with insanity and have liked it so far. It's fairly easy to do in a semi-confined space (as long as you have enough room to do push-ups you can pretty much do all the workouts). I've lost 13 lbs. so far following the workout calendar and eating healthy choices in small portions 4-5 times a day. Also have a lean protein shake after each workout as one of the meals. Next week is "recovery week" and then into the "Max" workouts. I have a feeling my body is going to hate me next month. So far on track to my 25 lbs. goal!

I've done both P90X and Insanity and got great results from both. However, being an all or nothing kind of guy, I would not try P90X on the road unless I was staying in hotels with a fitness area with dumbells and a pull-up bar. If I can't do the workout the way it was designed, I'd rather do something else. Insanity is great and really easy to do in a hotel room with no equipment. Just my two cents.

As mentioned, the problem with being on the road is lack of equipment. Also, a lot of times, the last thing you want to do after a long day is exercise. Having a goal like losing weight should help get the motivation going. I don't have any weight I want to lose, so just staying healthy is my motivation. I've never tried Insanity, but with everyone here giving it a good review, I will have to check it out.

For what it is worth I have done both p90x and insanity. I tried p90 just to change my workouts as I was in a rut doing the same thing too many times. p90x was great and I liked the results. I then did insanity and liked it as well. Now I have combined the two and really like the way that works out. You can do either on the road.
They both come with nutritional plans that help with weight control and overall good eating habits which we all know can be a challenge on the road.
Somebody mentioned starting with an easier program which is a great suggestion as both p90 and insanity are tough workouts and can be discouraging if you are not ready. Go to the website and pick one that is more middle of the road and work your way up.
Best of luck.

Everybody's results will be different, but to repeat what I said earlier, you DON'T need a gym to get results from P90X, I did it with the bands the entire time. You just HAVE TO ACTUALLY DO IT!!!!!!! Or whatever workout program one chooses.
When I was done with P90X I went from a 33" waist to 31" inches and put on 4lbs.

Yes, but you may have to slide the desk/chair, whatever else around. About a 4X6 area is all you need. Or just slightly modify some moves but you can get it to work.
Yes, it can be depending on the floors.
Also, isn't it kind of loud if there is a room below you?
