According to the numbers that come directly from American, the time that a new hire will spend at PSA is 6-7 years.
I have not heard anything from the company either way about the increased flow. The MEC says that it should increase, but the company has not responded either way. They have not officially announced if we have or have not reached the number. So, I don't know where we stand with that. I hope for an announcement soon. The increased flow benefits me just as much as anyone else.
Upgrade time is about 24 months and according to the latest union numbers and should be falling.
I have never lied to anyone about PSA and I would like to discuss this with you. Please feel free to PM me your contact info and we can talk if you have any questions.

The last guy that flowed to AA was hired at PSA on July 30, 2007. The company is trying to claim that a pilot hired today will flow in 6-7 years from his date of hire, however that is contingent on more than 50% of the pilots senior to him going somewhere else and not utilizing the flow. If everyone flowed, minus the top 60 or so who aren't going anywhere anyways, and we were flowing the max of 8 per month, which we are not, it would take a new hire about 14-15 years to flow. The only difference here is deception trying to sell a garbage product to newbies who don't know any better

The games that management is playing is the same thing that happens at mainline carriers
It is upsetting because we all want it to be perfect, but this is how this industry works. If you are complaining about PSA, then you would really hate anywhere else.

Even if all of the bad press is true, PSA is still better than just about every other regional.

I am not going to lie to you and give you an answer that is not true. I am also not going to give a partial answer.
If you have a question for management, I suggest that you address it to them. I have asked many questions to management about this and I am waiting to get the answers as well.
