PSA vs. Endeavor
I live in Ohio and am trying to choose between PSA and Endeavor because of the DAY, CVG, and DTW bases. CVG would be the furthest but DTW and DAY are about the same drive time. I interviewed with Endeavor at Oshkosh so I have that CJO and one Expressjet gave me a few years ago while in school. (I’ve ruled out expressjet at this point but I would be open to ideas as to why that would be a good choice too.). I’m finishing up my PSA app this week and hope to have that option on the table as well.
PSA would be nice because I can hold DAY out of training, fast upgrade, flow to AAL and use SAP while it still exists. The only bad thing I’ve heard about them is that the union is very unresponsive/non-existent. Not sure how this compares to other regional unions. Junior manning doesnt bother me because I have prior jet time but no 121 time so I would need 1000 hours (which I would think is enough time to get comfortable) before I would be moved to the left seat anyway.
Endeavor has slightly better pay but I would have to commute to LGA and JFK to sit reserve for a while and have to wait longer to upgrade. I’m not counting on using the flow to American but I would rather have that than the DGI at Endeavor.
Thoughts?

Easy, drive to DTW.
I wouldn't come to psa for the flow. You would be around 1800 on the list when you start class. We flow 10 a month. The reality is that many people who have been hired since the flow started are unhirable at the legacy Airlines. That's why many come to the AA WO'ds. Checkride failures, no degrees, arrests, other black marks, ect. I believe outside attrition is going to be less than many are predicting. A lot of those people are just going to hang out at psa until they flow, which will keep the flow almost out of sight for a new hire today. Many have resigned to this reality.
Drive to DTW and get paid $20 more an hour.

Are you within roughly 1:45 of DTW? Our fo reserve is probably about 6-8 months in dtw post IOE on the 900 but the way things are looking 2-3 of those months will be 12 hour call out. All this depends on where and when the growth happens.

I chose PSA almost two years ago. I'm paying for it now with a forced displacement from base, sitting reserve, and low CA wages.
The flow is REALLY far off for new hires today at PSA. We hired a ton of pilots in the past year and a half.
If I had to choose today, I'd drive to DTW for more money.

This here is one of the few good reasons for coming to PSA...Wanting to be based in Norfolk.

Why not bid for what you want? The forced upgrade isn't something that snuck up on everyone.
Just don't understand why/how people get forced into a base other than preference. Seems there are plenty of openings if you bid for it.

Were there no CA upgrade positions available in your base?

Say you're a CLT First Officer and you're trying to avoid being Senior Manned so you bight the bullet and bid DAY CA- DAY FO etc with ORF being absolute last pick. Bidding like this would theoretically give you the best chance of staying in base.
The award then comes out and there's no Captain openings in Dayton so you're awarded Dayton FO since being senior means you don't get kicked out of base.
Then a week later they run the senior man, see you're a DAY FO with at least 975 hours and are legal to upgrade, then they send you to ORF because that's where hardly anyone wants to go, and based on the language of the LOA they can send you wherever they want.
