I'm an 1,100 hour instructor already signed on with PSA. Management is telling us class dates in January, and for me personally, my anticipated class date of May '21 will remain unchanged according to them (I don't turn 21 til then). Even though they have said all this, I have serious doubts with all that has just been announced that those dates are going to happen. What's the consensus around here? I have my app out at a few 91/91k companies and 135s in my area and considering taking something if offered... If I did that though, I'd have to leave the program and not have a CJO or "preferential class date" anymore
I'm a cadet too. Didn't your contract recently become amended to allow you to leave from being a CFI to doing something else in the meantime? Mine says that.

We have 130 airplanes and almost 2100 pilots. Even before Covid we were overstaffed. Parking the 200s and now reduced flying just exacerbates it. There will be furloughs.

130 * 10 + 125 (non line flying pilot positions) = 1425 pilots “needed”..... Ouch.

Yeah, exactly Chris. Between reduced flying AND the loss of the 200s, there is no way furloughs will not happen. I personally don't think concessions will really save anyone, and I am strongly against them.

PSA actually needs slightly more than 10 per aircraft because of SAP. You’re not far off though

You need a training bubble in there, plus those on leaves of absence, etc. Probably safer to go towards 1500

I’d say you’re just about spot on if we parked 15% in line with what we’ve been hearing from Envoy. But, my figures didn’t include management, min instructors, and leaves etc so I’d go as high as 1600-1700.

I believe I saw we had about 1950 Active pilots and like close to like 2100 total pilots.

Yea something like that when I was running some figures. I wonder what the ratio they like capt to FO. I know some say 1 to 1 but I think it’s not quite like that since most management, alpa, and instructor personal are captains at the top of the list.
