This aircraft order was coming regardless of any concessions taken by any pilot group. AMR will not fly around old 50 seat aircraft forever. What didn't have to happen is for concessions of any type to take place. Pilots seem to be the only group of labor that believes they must pay for new capital investments out of their pocket. That is a management responsibility. I promise you Horton or Parker don't take concessions to pay for a new office desk. The jets are tools to make money and these jets will make more money for the company, a company that is generating record profits. Usually labor shares in success but PSA have given into false fears for a very marginal gain (good luck staffing all your flying and turning this into growth).
They stabbed their union brothers over at Eagle in the back (and really everywhere) so there is nothing great about this announcement. Unless you want to celebrate the race to the bottom and continued whipsaw, not to mention the erosion of scope.

Eagle will get their chance to say NO, I am not holding any hope!

NO for the second time. The L-AE pilot group has dignity.

I hope you're right, I feel there is a group that is scared enough to vote yes. Personally I'd rather get furloughed with integrity than become a PSA pilot.

What PurdueFlyer said. PSA wasn't going anywhere. Let's see how long it takes for these guys to start complaining when the 50 seaters vanish. I hope for their sake, they got rid of the blended rate.

I am not celebrating anything. I am just merely pointing out that for some reason AMR management decided to stand by their word and I was skeptical of it. How the rest of it plays out, only time will tell.

At XJT, we already got management throwing out the fear grenade with loss of airframes. They could tell us that we will get a 100 aircraft with the new TA and my vote will still be NO.

"The company will determine which regional carrier will fly the E175s at a later date."

This will be Republic, Eagle, or Piedmont. Hopefully the latter two can set a better example than seems to be the norm lately.

The 30 airplanes would still make it a loss if the 200's go. AMR knows how hard it was to fill the 47 crjs with pilots when they first got them...... And that was when they had plenty of pilots to choose from
