And for reserve being bad...yeah its bad, but this has been the easiest job I've had. Some people complain too much

Like I said I loved crew meals for first few months. Wonder how long you've been here Mx :P

Good luck on interview. Pretty straightforward interview. Most of the hiring board are good people. Relax and be yourself.

Except the top 80-100 people, most are looking to get out. 96% of the captains here are great guys and gals. Few negative people but I think every airline has at least a handful.

Reserve when extremely overstaffed is cake.... Too bad some didn't experience a summer on reserve.... Then I doubt he'd feel that way....

dayton pilots on property over a year still have no line in sight.....

Tys has to be about the same..... Clt pilots have been lucky that captains leaving are clt based and lots of dayton and knoxville fos only want their current base for upgrade.... That won't last for forever either......

You'll get tired of the constant changes to your schedule. And you might be like me and enjoy the spontaneous aspect of the job. Then it will get old. You will call your wife after not seeing her for 5 days and say your going to be home at 5 for dinner. Then Sherry will call from scheduling and say she has modified your trip. You have a 2 hour sit and then doing a XYZ round trip. Finishing at 10pm. You won't be able to make your commute home and will have to pay for a hotel or go to the crash pad. Either way your wife is ****ed. Your ****ed. Then you find out the reason you had to do the extra round trip is because the other crew member called out sick because he wanted to go home and have dinner with his wife.

After this happens time and time again it wears on you. The honeymoon will end. It's just a matter of when.

This is the best description of our reserve here at PSA. I have been here just over a year and live in base so it makes life easy. As far as holding a line, I have been holding one pretty steady since November and was holding a few build ups last summer. But Im always at the bottom of the list and usually one of the last three to get a line. Dayton is getting senior on both the FO and CA side due to senior FOs not taking upgrade while CLT has a lot of takers. Dont really pay attention to the CLT or TYS lines because Im never going there unless I have to but I have been hearing very junior FOs are holding lines in CLT. I was lucky enough not to sit reserve here for very long but I can tell you that when i did it sucked. If I were a new hire I would go to TYS just to avoid our pathetic hot reserve and the duty time that comes with it. PSA has its good and its bad just like every company.

Are you telling me you don't love that onion bread roast beef sandwich which makes everything else, including the oreo's, in the crew meal taste like onions.

I think DCA crew meals are the best out of the hubs.

What ever happened to the chicken caesar salad crew meals in CLT? Those weren't too bad, especially for not being real chicken. The company must have caught wind that some of us liked them and yanked them.

I was hired last Spring, so I did sit reserve for summer, I just knew that the next 5 days were at the whim of the company. I made the best of it. And yes still the easiest job I've had. I know how much (min) I will make, steady benefits, and a known schedule. Before this job it was a bit of this a bit of that, sometimes strugling, other times excelling, I will take PSA reserve over that.

I said a positive thing and many came down on me. Come on guys lighten up things aren't so bad right now.

Many CLT lines are commutable. DAY and TYS have more unfriendly early day one shows but you will hold a line a lot earlier. I remembered I was willing to do two leg commute because our rsv is horrible. We've been a little fat on FOs and many rsvs now have no idea what the rsv life has been in the past. Mainline was taking 4-5 guys a month past 3 months I think. Haven't heard lately if more people got hired.
YGTBSM!!! So a lineholder gets a hotel if he has a 5 hour sit but your reserves have to sit at the airport for 12?! Talk about throwing the junior guys under the bus aka eating the young. I would give up crew meals to get rid of that in a heartbeat. But thats me.
