Keep in mind that in most outstation bases almost all of the trips start with with the first flight of the day (5AM show) and finish with the last flight of the night (11PM release) which means you'd probably have to commute into DAY the day before your trip and commute home on your first day off.

What are typical show and release times in CLT?

September 8th hiring update:
2 hour call out on Short Call Reserve, and 12 hour call out on Long Call Reserve. Then from report time you have 45 minutes to departure time, and the only real requirement is to be present in the "operations area." Just don't be late, and don't cause a delay. Another reason why PSA is great. If you were in class in the next few months I doubt you'd see much reserve if any. Describe release times? Duty ends 15 minutes after block in, and for reserves FAR 117 pretty much governs that as far as FDP goes.
Edited: You saw it.
PSA RECRUITING
A new hire class of 17 flight attendants started on September 8. So far in 2014 we have hired 372 pilots and 281 flight attendants!

I guess I'm not up on the proper terms. By show times I mean what times could you expect to start on the first day of a 4-day trip, and what times could you expect to finish on the last day in CLT? I'm still weighing my options, but I would most likely be commuting.

CLT has early shows and early finishes or late shows and late finishes for the most part. Prior to FAR 117, it used to be later shows on day 1 and 2 but early shows the last two days. Of course the last day will be 5am show with 5 legs. But not anymore.

Someone posted on our forum where an envoy captain was on psa jumpseat recently and said to report the envoy captain to envoy's jumpseat chairman immediately if there's any issue. I guess he doesn't want his commute to work and home screwed up because of few rogue tough guys trying to prove a point which accomplishes nothing. We all give rides to each other. What will one prove or even accomplish other than hurting your own guys?
