You do realize, in order to upgrade pilots, you have to have pilots under them to replace the FO seat.
Hiring 700 pilots this year alone will be improbable. I'm willing to bet the orders will be canceled, delayed, or sent to an airline that can staff. So bank on stagnation or shrinkage. Hope for growth. I don't think you will see any regional able to grow in this environment.

I stated logic with normal math. So far, the dupers have used small adjustments without numbers...it's better known as misdirection: the used car salesmans best friend.

If you already have 1000 sic OR certain Militay/135 time to count towards the sic requirement then the "super fast, less than a year upgrade" is NOT gone. In fact, our current upgrade is at 6 months (April 2014 new hire). This is going to continue for some time as well.
If you are someone who does not currently meet these requirements then a realistic upgrade projection would be 18-24 moths. Keep in mind this is still one of the fastest upgrades in the regionals today. Only attrition to American was mentioned. What about every other Legacy, Cargo, LCC, Fractional, and Overseas that are all hiring? Not all PSA pilots are holding out for American....

Omg!!! You are making me laugh. Yeah because so many young guys are like "gee I'm just not ready for the left seat! I'd like to keep going as an FO, making 20 some grand instead of 70-80 some grand". Yeah I'm sure those numbers are so significant to make my numbers "way off".

Do you even work here? There are at least 100 FOs that have the time to upgrade but have already bypassed and that number keeps growing. A bunch of them in the training department are enjoying 117 hrs of pay and a nice QOL instead of being scheduling's whipping boy. So yea your numbers are about as off as the Patriots football's PSI.
100 FOs that have passed upgrade but have the time? Ohhhhkay. And that is a good thing for a new hire to hear even if true? Come on.

We hired 600 pilots in 2014 with a training dept. maybe half the size of what it is right now.
