The pilots of PSA are now reaping the benefits of having played into management's hands and making the future a lot harder for everyone else. We are competitors but that is not the same thing as being outright buddy frackers. PSA pilots really fracked the pooch on this and there is no denying it.

But why argue about it? With the quick upgrades and new planes just be sure to brag about it on the crew vans and in the jumpseat. If you're going to be a buddy fracker then you owe it to the rest of the world to be a big fat loud buddy fracker!!!

It seems like your attitude is justified, but also hindsight is 20/20. The basic question is did eagle vote yes because PSA did or because AAG was actively setting their airline on fire by outsourcing their flying. If the latter is true then it stands to reason that "standing up in unison is the equivalent of 3 brothers standing up to a gunmen saying they have they power. AAG demonstrated that they could and would destroy Eagle that makes makes their threats or bluffs valid if the want them to be.

By the contract you could always play the "ACARS isn't a legal form of positive contact" game, but that would only have you doing a carpet dance in the CP's office later.

Not picking up your phone on your day off falls under the "No duh" category.

Is that for a JM or extension? I have only received phone calls for a JM. But for extensions I have had ACARS, phone calls, gate agents try to notify me. But I have my phone set up so that when scheduling calls it goes straight to voicemail. My record so far was 4 phone calls and 3 ACARS messages in one day.

Hey guys! Was thinking about applying for the DEC position...anyone know a thread where people may be talking about that? Ya know...someone with some more details/experience/expectations of what PSA would be like as a DEC?

I just don't see what the Environmental Protection Agency has to do with anything.

There is very little information about it. Since the program started, as far as I know, there are only a total of 7. I'm not sure if any of the seven are doing IOE yet. The last two captain awards went pretty senior with no DEC. There should be another published today that might be more telling.

PSA announcing the DEC hiring has got a lot of FOs who were previously on the fence or waiting until they wouldn't have to be on reserve to go ahead and go for the upgrade. So I have a feeling that there actually won't be that big of a need for DECs. So if you want to come here as a DEC, don't wait.

But thats not all folks, buy in the next ten minutes and receive another upgrade with no additional costs! Two upgrades for the price of one, wow what a deal.

Agreed, when it's all said & done, I doubt there'll be any more than 10-20 DEC's at PSA. I wouldn't recommend it.

Could anyone at PSA comment on schedules; how many days off, commutable, trip trading, block hours actually flown, etc...
