Hand flying means if you are the FO, after you do your walk around in the rain, you pull the propeller around to get the engine started. Son, you have a lot to master!

This! The 145 requires good technique in many areas of flying it, in other words you need to be a detailed oriented pilot to fly it well and smoothly.

I, for one, like flying and discussions about it.

When flying is more important than QOL you have some serious priority issues.

Why do you think that I think flying is more important than QOL?

Edit: I'm saying you can talk about both, same as you can talk both about the World Cup and the Super Bowl in separate threads. But I re-read the original post and see he was using this as a consideration in picking a fleet; so fair enough.

Now the E145 is garbage. Flies like crap.
I’ve never flown the 175, I have a lot of time in the 145, I hand fly it A LOT. To me the 145 is a ton of fun to hand fly. Sorry for the thread hijack.

Most 'fun' jets to hand fly in my experience.

1. E145
2. B757
3. E175 - The flight director/flight path vector on this and is awesome though.
4. B737

Number three is interesting as I found almost without exception that people don’t like the flight director on the 175. It works well, but most seem to prefer the flying wing style.
