LOL! That's good!

When I did my airplane ride my instructor told me this story. If anyone is familiar with the EMB-120, the levers to drop the props into reserve are almost in the same location as the FUEL SHUTOFF levers on the RJ. Apparently some Bro pilot transitioning to the RJ learned a bad habit of moving the props into reverse from behind the Power Levers instead of in front. During his a/c ride (NO PAX on board), after he landed he went to move the levers into reverse but his old bad habit came flaring up causing him to reach behind the thrust levers and shut the fuel off to both engines. LOL Oooops, PRIMACY!

I don't know who it was but that's one hell of a mistake to try in explain in your instructor.

So, if you're ever flying on a SKW RJ and after you land you hear both engines shut down, just laugh and say "must be one of them damn Bro pilots!" LOL!

P.S. I flew the bro so I'm allowed to rib.

my sim instructor was the check airman on that flight (im sure all the skw people know him). He said after that incident all the initial aircraft rides are done with the APU running the entire time.

He did two of my Sims but never mentioned it. My a/c ride instructor mentioned it because I was a Bro guy. "I believe in PRIMACY" is all I told him.

During my a/c ride we did two touch and goes, that can be a little nerve racking.

1. Touch down around 130kts; Don't FLOAT you can't be long!
2. No breaks, No reversers........don't slow down
3. CA cleans the plane up while you're maintaining centerline at 130kts on an 8000' RWY
4. CA says go, you increase thrust and he sets it, above 79% - GLD's (Ground Lift Dumping) stows.
5. ROTATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................... ......There goes the end of the RWY.

WOW! That happened fast!
