Its the same deal at XJT especially now that our future is in our own hands.

I think CAL is beginning to realize the mess on their hands with the Cha-take-your-job-away thing but as long as Larry's bottom line improves in the short term, it must be a good decision, right? Personally, I make a point of saying ExpressJet as much as possible on PAs and when talking to pax just to distance ourselves from that whole mess over there with CHQ. Kinda sucks that CHQ gets to use CoEx titles because now they are making us look bad.

PS
Anyone heard the rumors of CAL suing CHQ for the cost of all the denied boarding compensation given out at CHQ stations? Have heard its costing CAL, on average, $70,000 per month per CHQ station. Also have heard that CAL is mad at CHQ for not using ACARS or a decent W&B program. Gotta love the circus
LOL ACARS...

And WB.. are you kidding me.. a decent FO at Comair can Turn an airplane in under 20 min and WE dont have ACARS and the WB is done BY the FO manually....ACARS I can only wish some of you guys are REally Spoiled tho I wish we had ACARS.. oh and a better Radar Head

Yeah and when I was at PDT we turned 50-seaters in 14 minutes (and sometimes less), no ACARS, manual W&B. What's your point? It's nice to be able to take your time and not rush. And when you have mgmt standing behind you and allowing you plenty of time to do your job, it makes things that much better.

And with the right captain, sometimes it was 10 minutes. Seriously, though, we did turn the 300s in less than 15 all the time.

I've used the manual and auto (via ACARS) W&B program and can say that neither is faster, they are about the same, until you start having the agents put one person on at a time after the flight is technically closed, or have the rampers load a few bags after starting push back. The W&B on the ACARS saves a lot of headaches.

Errrm....Its called an on time bonus and profit sharing. Those little $65 or $100 checks every quarter and that couple grand at the end of the year are kinda nice. But I guess we can't all be that lucky. Again, thats the XJT vs. Misc. Crappy Regional mindset. Profit sharing and a little pride your company and what you do can go a long way towards finding ways to do things more efficiently. But if you hate your company, do what ever you need to do to sleep better at night (fly slow, waste gas, write up every little thing, etc).

Shoot...with no ACARS I could turn a plane in 1 minute. Regardless of size. Its easy when you can pull an out time from your arse. As far as the W&B thing, the rumor is that CHQ's W&B program isn't as precise as XJT's and therefore they have to be more generous in their averages and estimates. Thats why we can fly an ERJ-LR IAH-STL with 50 people and their bags but CHQ flies the same airplane on the same route and is weight restricted to 44.

people dont do those things as a selfish way to feel better about themselves. its about improving work condiitons and encouraging positive changes for your industry. but i guess you dont care as long as you get your $50 check, and your executives are getting something slightly more than that for exploiting you. and i bet they sleep TERRIBLY at night knowing their employees are barely making ends meet. im not criticizing you for working for low pay because i do it too and i know its all about building time and moving on up... however i am concerned with your justification of such a lousy system.
