You know what...that employment link doesn't work with Firefox, no freaking wonder. You have to use IE. Thanks so much.

That's weird... Normally everything works in Firefox. However, I use IE at work.

Does anyone know how many pilots have been hired so far this year at mesaba, including those in the pool? Just curious as to how many more they may be looking for. - Thanks

As of 2 Jul, the last number on the seniority list is 675. I've heard numbers of it eventually getting up around 1100-1200. I believe it was around that number back when the Avros were still running. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey this is my first time posting on here and I'm heading to Minneapolis for an interview with Mesaba on Tuesday. Any advice or heads up would be greatly appreciated!

Everyone youll meet there is great; very friendly and accomodating. If you havent been doing instrument stuff lately, hop on flight sim and bring your proficiency up. The sim is straight out of the 80's but itll tell em whether or not you have any sembelance of an instrument cross check. I did have to draw out a non-depicted holding pattern and execute the entry, but it really wasnt anything too complicated, just make sure to divide your attention between the flying and drawing/visualizing the holding clearance. Interview wasnt anything tricky, lots of tell me about a time type questions. I had a couple of stories ready for these, some dealt with flying, some did not. I interviewed about a month and a half ago, so for more recent stuff try www.aviationinterviews.com or www.willflyforfood.cc . Good luck to ya.

To all the MSP based pilots.......where do most of the younger guys and gals live in the MSP area? I start training on July 30 and am planning on doing the commuting thing after training till im awarded an MSP base. I lived for a few months in Eagan in 2005 and liked it ok, but it seemed more like a family community rather than for the mid-twenties crowd. Thanks for the help.

Eagan is definitely a family place so if you are looking for something more exciting don't live there. I am not a Minneapolis expert but just bought a house there and it seems like a cool city. If you can live near downtown there are a lot of young people down there. Even if you have to live in the burbs getting into town to good restaurants/bars/clubs isn't too difficult. I took the train in a few times in training and it was easy and pretty cheap (cheaper than driving in and paying for parking).

Thanks again for the tip...I guess it worked. Sent in the app and resume on Thursday and got the call from Kim for an interview this morning for Aug 2. She called me from her home on a Saturday morning so she must be really working the overtime.

Wish me luck!!
