Was at the training center today and I heard that there will be 200 newhires by the end of the year.

there are only 3 months left in the year... how the heck are we going to push through 200 in 3 months. That's 67 per month. With a class every 2 weeks thats over 30 newhires every class..... Good luck keeping that all on schedule. Especially with the holidays cutting into things.

well its not that Comair and Mesaba are merging. The comair conference call is over and no mention of merging. In fact he flat out denied it.(doesnt really mean anything though.)
He also said the reason comair didnt receive freedoms 900 was "economical" and that the aircraft are being parked.
So no doubt there is something going on at mesaba but it's not freedoms 900's. Gotta be something good if your hiring 200 though.

I'd love to have some idea of what's going on around here with all the hiring, but everyone said the 23rd and it could just be whether or not our president knows how to throw a baseball...

Someone probably just made up a random day to get everyone excited. I guess I could make up another one for everyone to look forward to again. Hopefully people are not losing sleep over this so called announcement because it could be months off

It wouldn't surprise me about the 200 new hires, but by the end of the year is nuts! Last time I was at the training center I heard the Q400 was the next aircraft to be in our fleet. In both of these cases I won't believe it, till I see it.

what are the times of the new guys getting hired? saw someone on a gouge site get hired with 450 total. i have more than that, I was just wondering because of all the 121 guys out on the street. do they look at 135 time anymore favorably if my hours are below 1000?

That was actually a prank the sim guys were playing because there are a ton of rumors going on about why we are hiring so many people.
