5 turbine and 3 jet...seriously? Maybe it'd just be better to leave those out for posterity sake.

Thanks for the feedback. I have no DUIs. No criminal or civil trial history. I have a college degree and am currently working on an MBA. Do they want an aviation science degree these days? I didn't do that because I don't think that an aviation science degree is a good safety net. I have 400 hrs in the last 6 months. I have just over 150 multi. The only moving violation that I have in the last 10 years was a minor speeding ticket in 2001 (45 in a 35 I think). I know some guys that got hired with several speeding tickets!
Perhaps just over 900 tt is not enough? Should I wait until I have ATP mins to re-apply? I'm honestly not trying to be sarcastic, I am just curious what "competitive" is these days. I also want to know what else I need to work on.
It seems to me that hiring managers might find a better return on their recruiting and training investment if they might consider hiring people with 800-1500TT also - because those people would probably be around longer? Mesaba seems like a good company, so I don't mind waiting though...

proskuneho, a lot of guys I know from my class and a lot of guys recently hired at the company have CFI's including myself. Both guys in my interview that didnt get hired didnt have CFI's.....not to say its a requirement but it looks good for sure. In the interview they asked me a lot about flight instructing, like "what would a student of mine say about me"? Is that 150 multi, real multi or sitting in the right seat of king air? Just a reference not saying that is what you did, but I know a lot of guys from my local airport that bragged on their resume how they had King Air time and most of their multi was king air, they didnt get a call. No offense to any king air f/o's out there but most operations have a pulse in the right seat for insurance purpose.

I'm not sure what "competitive" is, but I was just hired for the Oct. 6 class with ATP, 2600 TT, 1500 ME, and most of it is 135 PIC. I have no turbine or 121 experience. Good luck to those applying!

Thanks for contributing to the cause guys. I am a CFI/CFII/MEI. I recently passed 550 dual given. Almost all of my multi-time is from me instructing in the Duchess. I have sat right seat in a King Air 350 also, but I have not included any of that in my times because it is not loggable (SP?) time...

Yea I had 350 S/P time too, since the A/C requires a type rating I couldnt log it as multi engine since I was not qualified. Good luck hope you get a call soon.

Hey all, got a call a few days ago with an Oct. 9 interview date. I applied Sept. 9th, and had a captain walk a resume in to the chief pilot. I feel extremely lucky to have the chance to interview, total time 900 with 320 or so multi time. Wondering what hotel you guys that have interviewed used and how it worked out? I'm flying in the night before the interview and am hoping I can chill out enough to sleep. Hoping things go well and I get a thumbs up, good luck to the rest of you applying.

Yep I know, it's crazy out there. I have 7000+ total, 6100 mel, 3500 tp, 2100 tj (the large, jurassic type), over 15 years of 121/135 time, and I am out of a job. I guess if you have a flying job that you are happy with and can pay the bills you are in good shape. Good luck to all!

Isn't a jet a turbine?

He probably meant to distinguish between turboprop and turbojet...
