If this were really the case they wouldn't have transfered FOs from the Saab to the jet one month only to have new hires in the Saab the following month. They are still finishing training the new Saab guys in the 900 while running new Saab classes at the same time. How much sense would that make if nothing was up? Why would Delta have higher staffing needs than us? I say 36 new 900s. May get rid of some of the 200s though.

While mainline has minimum staffing numbers, I can't see that those specific policies would apply to us. The cost structure of the regionals doesn't support long term over staffing, especially when mainline won't pay to keep crews for "just in case".

That being said, mainline won't pay for extra crews but they will penalize the regionals for being understaffed, as in the case of Pinnacle in '05.

Something is up here at Mesaba. But until the merger is complete one way or another there won't be any announcements. But after living through the 2004 contract and the bankruptcy, we are entitled to a little positive gossip.

Soooo, I interviewed this past week and the anticipation is killing me! In the power point presentation it mentioned it could take 7-10 days to get the call. Some have reported on here that they have received the call in as little as 2 days and 3 days. Is it possible that those with a quick response have had prior 121 expierence?

I'll try to chill, it's only been 3 business days.

Part of the process that goes on behind the scenes is that the people who do the interviewing get together in a conference room and discuss each interview. Like/dislikes, quals, and issues. Then they vote on who gets a call.

Depending on how often this group gets together (ie after x-number of days or candidates) you may wait more or less days depending on where your interview group was in the process.

Be patient.

After speaking to one of the cooler interviewers, he said that they get together the same day and make a decision the same day or else they'll forget you. That's why he had mentioned to us of the girl who had gotten hired the day before. I'm guessing they just haven't gotten around to calling people? For me what's killer is always checking the mailbox to see if I have a rejection letter in the mail. I remember doing the same w/ Comair for 12 days before I got the call. If you get hired, you get a phone call. If not, you get a letter in the mail.

I know of someone around here who interviewed with Mesaba two weeks ago and got a rejection letter in the mail two days later. (I agree, two days is a short time) I'm hoping I don't get anything on Monday. The wait is killing me, that's for sure.

Don't worry. I know people that waited the full 10 days....at least no letter, so that's good news .
