For what it's worth, one of the maintenance tech manager told us last week that they had already received serial and registration numbers for the 17 additional CRJ9s. He actually volunteered this info even without asking. When asked if he thinks Mesaba will get additional CRJ9s, he said he is very certain Mesaba will.

No official announcement has been made as of yet. The Crew Planning seems to know what is going on as they are hiring flight attendants and pilots like they are getting ready for a major expansion or for a major attrition of the top people to flow through. Who knows. It will be an interesting time in the next few months.

To all the folks starting CRJ-900 class Nov. 3. I know I proposed dinner a while ago on sunday night as a chance for us all to meet up and get to know each other. Hopefully those that were interested still are, how does 7pm sound? I called the Staybridge and they said there's an aviation themed restaurant nearby that would probably fit the bill for everyone. I'll be driving up, but should be there by 4pm or so. Looking forward to meeting you all that I don't already know!

Hey guys anyone elsein the Nov. 17th class? Just got an email from Steve Taylor saying they may cancel the 200 class on the 17th and merge it with the 12/1 class. Any thoughts on why this may happen? Is Mesaba about to stop hiring.

I'm interested to hear about this "aviation themed restaurant." If its the green mill the only thing aviation themed is the pilots there for happy hour!

Doubt it.

We are confirmed to be taking 8 900's from Freedom (which Pinnacle is currently running until January). Those revenue flights begin February 18th. An additional 7 900's are coming for a total of 15.

SAABs start flying into ATL in February 09 and the CRJs start flying into ATL in March. From the sounds of things, the 900's will all be based in DTW, but they haven't made that official yet.

ATL may be converted into a pilot/MX base sometime in the spring, but that isn't for sure yet.

There is a lot of excitement about our growth and there is bound to be a lot of movement with the 900's coming. One always wonders how long it will last, but I've heard nothing that would indicate that a hiring slowdown is coming.

Has anyone waited for more than 7-10 days for a call back for a class date. I had my interview on 10/16, and its been 11 business days, no call and no "dear john letter". Is calling a bad idea??
