SAAB2000 thats perfect info, also do youo guys fly into BOS? or have BOS overnights, I m just curious. It shows on your route map that you do. I am originally from Portland , ME (PWM) and you do a lot of flights in and out of there would be great for overnights. I am attending the job fair in ATL Saturday and am really hoping that it works out for me. Im specifically going there just for AWAC so we will see.

We do BOS, and there are some overnights. We also do PWM, the overnight is usually a CDO tho.

We have some BOS overnights. I have also had the PWM layover, but not for a long time.

You will need a crashpad in PHL or be prepared to get hotels. I don't know how much reserves are flying at the moment. But if you are from BOS you should be able to commute in and out on the day of on a regular basis. Keep in mind DCA might be just as good, especially with the US Airways Shuttle, which goes more or less every hour to DCA, though I don't know when the latest flight is.

But if you have a crashpad near DCA it is a good base to be at.

PHL RSV's are working every day. Crashpads are a little easier to get in PHL than DCA and are cheaper. $180 a month in PHL vs. $225 a month in DC. Right now, we have just about 700 pilots, and EVERY SINGLE CA I fly with either has a class date, is interviewing, or trying to interview at bigger and better things. Things should be moving steady here for a while.

Yea that what i figured, not long layovers in PWM. DCA is also a choice for me commuting. PHL and DCA have 2 flights per hour that come from BOS and vice versa. So commuting to either would be good. Any other tips you guys have for me for Saturday? Do they seriously consider peopel that attend these fairs? I am bringing my logbook, medical, passport, pilots license, and 3 letters of reccomendation, and wearing a suit. Anything else??

Just be yourself. They are good at weeding out the nerdy types. Plus if you don't have at least 1 DUI, you'll want to go get one tonight because they ARE from Wisconsin, and if you don't like to drink, you won't fit in. Kidding Kidding. You'll do fine. Just show them why you want to work here.

Get a haircut. Be on time. Be yourself. Be nice and attentive. The guys you will be interviewing with are long-time AWAC people who have both been pilots but are now in management. Yes, they will consider people who go to these fairs. Otherwise they themselves would not bother to go. We will need pilots and it is no longer easy to bring people into ATW for interviews.

AWAC pilots are good pilots for the most part, fun-loving guys and gals with a sense of humor, not over-the-top with anything. AWAC pilots are always willing to learn more. Professionals who, in spite of what the company has done in the past few years, get the job done according to the book.

Yeah, that all sounds a bit sappy, but it's the truth. This is a good group of pilots who bend over backwards and work hard. Let them know that this is your first choice. But don't kiss a$$ either. Just let them see that you are competent, confident and a team player.

Oh, and Bizzum is right. We are all beer afficionados of the first degree.

I'd encourage you to get to one of these fairs if you can.....My friend left CLE to go to MKE to interview at 5AM yesterday (5/15), got to CLT early AM.... sat around, missed THREE flights to MKE (bumped by revenue pax/commuters) and eventually got on the 9:45PM flight to MKE 14 hrs after arriving in CLT. Had to drive to Appleton (1.5-2 hrs), got to Appleton at 1:50AM cental.... interview/sim at 8AM. Didn't have a chance to do the prep...... and can't afford to miss another day of his current job.

Just thought I'd share. Now it doesn't look like he's going to get home tonight either!
